    .270 for ELK

There's nothing wrong using a 270 for elk. Yes, there are much bigger guns but a 270 will do the job like Bill said. I like shooting my dad's 270 over my 7mm mag. because of the recoil so that is something you should consider as well. I don't own a 30-06 but the range of bullet weights is amazing. TJ
  7. Tom took a very nice bull and congratulations. Sounds like you all worked hard and the pay off was certainly worth it. Thanks for the pictures and sharing Tom's hunt with us. TJ

Did I get butchered by my butcher?

I will agree good honest meat cutters are worth the money. With that said, if you have the extra money then that might be the way for you to go, but I get as much satisfaction out of butchering my own meat. I have a walkin but a deer can be processed fairly easy right out of an icecest. It doesn't take much tools to proccess a deer or an elk. You will be surpised at how easy it is. TJ
  25. a dream buck to say the least. WOW! Nothing more to say except congratulations on what just might be the biggest buck of the year. TJ
