Sounds like the snow got a little out of hand and made for some tuff hunting. Better shoot the next buck for meat just incase you get stranded there. Keep us posted on todays hunt if you can get out. Good luck to Richelle! TJ

*****Updated with Story and Pics****What's your hunting style?
tjhunt2 replied to gaps's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Lots of good advise here from good hunters. I recommend you purchase a book from the cw store called "Hunting Coues Deer". It's written by Duwane Adams and Tony Mandile. It is well worth the asking price of $20 and I believe there's a 10% discount going on right now. Spend more time glassing than walking. That doesn't mean you can't put some miles behind you it just means once you get to where you think you should be then sit down and pick the country apart behind some binos resting on a tripod. You don't have to buy the most expensive binos on the market to start out but buy the best you can afford. You'll find over the years of hunting the higher price binos will let you glass more comfortable and longer hours. Good luck on your hunts and I'll be looking to see your post. TJ -
That's a very good buck. I would just like to see one that big. Congratulations! TJ

I have been lost for words since I heard of this terrible tragedy. Well said my friend. Thoughts and prayers please. TJ -
Peg and I would like to take this time to wish each of our cwt members and their families a Safe & Happy Holidays. Those who have lost loved ones this past year our thoughts and prayers are with all of you thru this time of year where family and friends normally get together. May this next year be one full of good health and happiness. We are blessed to have so many friends here on cwt and just wanted to say thank you for all your stories and pictures you have shared with us here. Thanks to all those who came to our CWT Christmas Party last year and we wished we could have done it again this year but our busy schedule wouldn't allow it. It's still not to late for someone to step up and have one. Here's a picture of last year's x-mas get-together. From our house to yours Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

Pixman, you're becoming one of my favorite posts to open and read because I know I'm going to see some great photos and hear some good information that you've gathered. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of your work afield. TJ

The definition of a road hunter to me is someone who is not disabled and never leaves their truck and then shoots from it as well or the ones who ride in the bed of a truck with a weapon ready to shoot while their buddy drives them around. I normally don't like to get in to these discussions but in my opinion I don't consider someone road hunting if he gets out of his vehicle and sets up a tripod and glasses the surrounding area for game. I have even sat in the back of my truck to get the height advantage. Just saying! TJ

Congratulations to your son on his first buck. These are the kind of stories I like to start the day off reading. Trips like these are great for the kids and the grownups have just, if not more, fun. If only more parents could and would get their kids invoved in the great outdoors this would be a better world for it. Thanks for sharing your hunt and pictures with us. TJ

I know you can't shoot more than 2 pigs but was told you can buy all the tags you want as long as they're in different units. Just can't shoot more than two. TJ

Congratulations Smitty on a very nice ram. I'm a little late with congrats but your hunt sounded like it was a great time with friends. I'ld like to borrow your friend to carry mine out if I ever draw. TJ
