Jim, don't tell me you were at the banquet? If you were I wished I could have met you. I actually showed up the day after and helped them tear down and load everything up. The wife and I joined up at the banquet and hope to volunteer as much as we can. It was a fun night and we really enjoyed watching the money flow. TJ

First trip out and came back with 9 antlers!
tjhunt2 replied to bonecollector777's topic in Shed Hunting
Bonecollector777, congratulations on all the bone. That is one heck of a lot of antlers for a short amount of time in the field. Sounds like you hit the jackpot for sure. Wish I was that lucky. TJ -
I drew an archery bull tag and yes the streak lives on. You're going to get me stoned to death Robert. 25 straight elk tags! TJ If I could draw 25 in a row I would consider getting stoned myself!Seriously, it shows what dedication can do for you. I look forward to pics and stories. I've been blessed to hunt the unit I love for so many years. Started out playing the odds and fell in love with everything about unit 22. I have lost a couple elk over the years and it still bothers me to have done that but I have been fortunate enough to put 19 elk tags to use. The first two were rifle and the rest archery. Good luck to all those who were successful in the draw. TJ Any chance we could get you to do a collage or slideshow of all those elk? That would be awesome to see. I wish I could but I'm probably the most dumbest person there is when it comes to putting anything together like that. Now I will share a campfire and share some of my memories with you only if you share some of yours with me. TJ

I fished once out of San Diego and loved it but have never been back. Wouldn't it be great if someone would put a trip together for the cwt members only. I'm in if it ever happens. I don't know nothing about doing such a thing so that leaves me out. Thanks for sharing your trip and pics. TJ

Good for your dad. I'm in the same boat as you. My dad is 83 and he said that every year but he drew a spring turkey tag and I will have him sitting somewhere in a blind. With this being the last year for feed he is probably done. Good luck with your dad and I hope he still has many more. TJ

That is awesome Robert that your Mom is still willing and able to get out there and hunt. Take lots of pictures. Now I know where you get your toughness. TJ

Just wanted to wish each of you a Happy Easter. I spent the last couple of days in God's country up under the rim. I found a small meadow covered in new grass and a little stream running along side. Walked over to check out some elk tracks and found my first brown shed ever. Standing alone in that space, listening to the stream carry the water down the mountainside, and the gentle wind blowing thru the pine trees is what I believe to be God's open church. I gave thanks to the Lord for this opportunity and for our one on one which I so much needed. Believe me when I say the Lord has his hands full with me. It was a spiritual feeling that was overwhelming. This is my church and thanks for letting me share it with you. I hope each of you and your families have a great day. Happy Easter! TJ
