Swhackers for bull elk? Updated testing..
tjhunt2 replied to TOBY's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I should have also said I didn't blame loosing my elk do to the swacker. I could have made a much better shot and should have. The out come would probably been exactly the same with a fixed blade. After beeing in maintenance most of my life I know if there is any moving part on something sooner or later it will fail. I will continue to use mechanicals on turkeys. I've seen alot of good videos on the swhacker so if you're having good luck with them then why change if it works for you. Just my opinion. -
Swhackers for bull elk? Updated testing..
tjhunt2 replied to TOBY's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Two years ago I shot a cow at 13yrds and it ran 20yrds and pumped blood out like it was pouring from a faucet and died within 5 minutes. This last year I double lunged a cow up high and it ran about 400 yrds with only 3 drops of blood. I couldn't figure out her trail and lost the meat after a good friend found it the next day. It bled inside and no blood on the ground. I'm done with swhackers altogether. I swore I would never use a mechanical ever on big game but just had to try out these swhackers. I don't like the idea they fold up and pull out if not a pass thru. Keep with fixed blades on big game and you won't have to worry about a mechanical not performing to it's fullest. Just my opinion! Thanks for the kind words. Just trying to do what's right. TJ

I would like to thank those of you who provided me with information that led me to the source of the matter. I was able to talk with the Bishop today and he assured me, in his deepest sincere apology, it would be cleaned up and brought to the attention of those responsible. He ask if I would send him pictures which I did. As I told the Bishop my intent was not to get anyone in a lot of trouble but to bring awareness to those responsible. Thanks for all your posts.

I missed counted how many were in each box. Take 25 or so off each of the boxes. If you can't afford to donate something that's perfectly alright. Just pm me if you really want these older magazines and I won't reveal your name. TJ

NTS - Did you ever get a hold of them? I was able to find the bishop's phone number. No, I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone as of yet. If you would be kind enough to pm me with his phone number I would greatly appreciate it. TJ

do all bucks get big with age
tjhunt2 replied to couesmagnet's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I don't know about elk....but you'll be surprised by the amount of hunters that would pass on a 100 inch buck! Ernesto C I'm one of those who would definitely pass on a 100 inch buck. The meat tends to get real tuff and who would want to tote all that bone out of the mountains? jk TJ -
