This is an awesome gun and would be perfect for a kid or small adult. This is a great price for this rifle. I keep telling myself I don't need another rifle. This isn't going to last long with all the jr. hunts coming up. TJ

Woke up yesterday with the idea of floating the Salt River so I called a few friends and only one taker. Since it was a last minute decision we got a really late start, 1:30, and decided we would get out at Coons Bluff with so little time to spare. The wind kept us on the river longer than expected and we pulled our tubes out at last light with a thunder storm fast approaching. It was dark by the time Peg and Angie headed back to the start of the river but at least I had the rest rooms to get in if the rain got to bad. All the cars had left and now it was just Lexie and I standing in the parking lot with thunder & lightning cracking all around us. Lexie loves the sound of thunder and thought this was really neat hanging out. As we waited for the truck to arrive someone out of the dark came walking up and wanted to know if this was take out #5. He had left his group at #3 take-out, do to the storm, and was working his way down the river looking for his car. He and his group would have been in for a long wet night if he hadn't walked out of the river when he did. Peg and I drove him a few more miles down the river and eventually found his car. He had just got out of the service, after 10 yrs, and we thanked him for his service to our country and he likewise thanked us for a ride. It made for a good day knowing we had helped which might have turned ugly for him and his group. Here's a few pictures. The start of our float Lexie with her grass wig Peg & Angie enjoying the river Sheriff running their jet boat. Now that looked like fun. Lexie must have watched every dove that flew by and wondered why I wasn't shooting. Lexie relaxing after a day of swimming in the river. Lexie & I shared her new ride together. While waiting for Peg to get back with the truck, Lexie and I wait out the storm that I didn't think was as much fun as Lexie did.

tjhunt2 replied to 6ANut's topic in Fishing
I bet the weather was alot nicer there than here and the fishing looked great as well. Never been there on the island but planning on it sometime. Thanks for sharing your trip. TJ -
It's really hard to get video and have the hunter at the same time in that open country. Great job and congratulations to both. TJ

Deep fried mushrooms, onion rings, and hot wings with a few budlights to wash it all down. Then I might think about starting the burpee tomorrow. Got a feeling the burpee might start tonight. BURP, excuse me while I burp again. Peg, please get me another budlight thank you. TJ

Live Bear Cam - Brooks Falls Alaska
tjhunt2 replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
How long do I have to watch this before something happens? Thought maybe a salmon was going to fly in the air and the bear catches for her young. Couldn't find no fast forward. TJ -
burpee? TJ

She was completely in charge the whole day. Peg, Lexie, and I are moving a little slow this morning. Might be getting a little to old for this stuff. TJ

Not to sure about the size of the bear but you have found one of his resting places. Thanks for sharing. TJ

That was going to be my answer Pine Donkey. You beat me to it. TJ

That looks awesome Keith. You will have to put a few of your bear recipes in the new cwt cook book when it comes out. I'm getting the itch to purchase a bear tag so I can try some of that stew. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Congratulations and I can't wait to see the pictures. Even though I didn't draw a sheep tag I'm extremely happy for everyone who did. TJ

My wife is the best cook I know so I am volunteering her to come up with a recipe or two of her own. Count us in. TJ

Brian, so glad you drew a sheep tag. If anybody can pull it off I know it's you. Good luck and shoot straight. TJ

Now that's the way I like to start my morning off reading a good story. Especially when it comes to kids out fishing Dad. Great job Lil X and kudos to Dad. I always enjoy reading about your fishing trips and know we're going to see some pictures. I can't wait till the next adventure. Getting them kids out there is saying alot for you Big X. TJ

I wish there was something I could do to ease the pain other than just comforting you with words. I can't imagine how you live with the loss of your brother day in and day out but then I think of that awesome family you have and I know they are what gets you thru the hard times. You are absolutely right about your brother never leaving the house if he had ever met your adorable children. I know them first hand and I can testify to that. I can just hear them calling him Uncle Jungle Jim. What a great way to show the love you have for him with a tribute every year here on cwt. Wish I could have met him. Thoughts and prayers to help you thru this time of year my friend. TJ

That is good news for us who want to go scout and spend the night. I think we still need to be extremely careful and use a lot of common sense with our campfires. Thanks for the report and sharing. TJ
