Coues Deer Celebration 5!!!
gorczyca replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I thought the video was excellent. From the intro all the way through. When I was watching the intro pics of the sunrises and sunsets, it's hard to believe we get to see such beautiful scenery while doing something we love, hunt! Great job Amanda...thanks for taking the time to do that. Scott G. -
I got drawn for Late Nov-Early Dec 36B Coues. I'll be hunting with Casey and his gang. New unit for me, but am pumped I got a tag. Larry- You got drawn for the same hunt? We'll have to meet up for a soda...been a LONG time bud!!! Congrats to all who drew, and good luck. Scott G.

Casey just misses his ex-girlfreind...she was the REAL goatsucker....lol

Casey- Rifle looks good. I know you've been waiting for a while to get this rifle done. Glad you finally got it almost finished. Get the scope on it and it'll be ready to go hunting. I think you've got a nice "shooter"...good luck with it. Scott G

Anyone else have this happen?!
gorczyca replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Here's one for you Casey...I was in Illinois on a guided whitetail hunt w/ a well-known outfitter. Craig Boddington has hunted there...and other hunting celebs...ok? Well, we were hunting a 12,000acre private farm. We were told that 120-140" bucks were a dime a dozen. Called references...we were pumped about this hunt. Now, I'm no fool, I know hunting is what it is...hunting. But when you pay over $4000 for a guided hunt...did my due diligence...was told I'd see all these deer...on a 5 day hunt...I saw 12 deer. Yes 12! In Illinois?! 10 total hunts....10 does...(i shot one out of frustration) and 2 bucks that were too small to shoot. (we were fined if we shot a deer under 125") Needless to day I was disappointed. But what can you do? All I can say is...I won't be back there again!!! LOL Scott G. -

That's why they call it HUNTING and not shooting! LOL It happens to all of us...see pigs during deer season and vise versa...but we still go out every time we can...lol...gotta love hunting. Scott G. -
Casey- Thanks for posting pics and the story. Sounds like you had a good time. And, yeah...looks very think in there. COngrats on coming out with a nice buck. Another year or two you'll be busing the big one once you learn the ranch better. Glad you're back. It's quiet w/o you. LOL Scott G.

Wow...Tommy & Vini...teaming up! That's fantastic. I know I'm a little late in reading this, I've been in a BIG DARK CAVE! Anyways, I need to tell the CWT.COM World about MY experience in Tommy and his mapping service. But before I do, I noticed a lot of posts about what a great guy Tommy is. How good of a job he does. And then to hear my pal vinihunt is going to join him???!!! I was like what the...???? And folks, I've got to tell you that that was the best news I read today! I couldn't be happier. Back in...oh a few years ago...I was still trying to shoot a deer with a bow. After several unsuccessful seasons and fails stalks and attempts, Tommy suggested I come over to Ole NM and he'd get me lined up! So my good friend Allen and I, et al...drove to NM. With the info tommy provided me I FINALLY harvested my first deer with a bow the first afternoon I was there. That was probably the happiest I'd ever been to shoot anything. A nice 3x3. 15 yards...and I owe it all to the help and guidance of one Tommy Maldonado. Thanks again Tommy. I'll be back again one day and this time I have elk on the menu! Scott G. PS- On the morning hunt I screwed up a stalk on a 170" class buck. Tommy knows where to put you. -

Hey Tommy- It's been great reading about your hunts. Now I think it's time you shoot something and kill it. Best of luck in Old Mexico. We'll be praying for ya. Safe trip! Scott G. -
Nice buck. How cool to have your first coues in old mexico. Nice job! Thanks for sharing. Scott G.

Desertbull- LOL...that was hilarious! And Casey has the beard to add that tickle sensation...lol BEST OF LUCK CASEY! Don't drink the water...or you'll be doin' more than huntin'...haha Scott G.

Stalker- SHOOT! SHOOT! SHOOT! Any coues with a bow is a good one. I just took my first coues this past Nov (rifle) but I'll be back with a bow one day. I did want to ask you about the Columbian black tails your shot in Cali. I currently live in Fresno and need a Columbian to complete my deer slam. Any advise or suggestions you can offer to help me accomplish this feat? I know B-zones are were the true Colombians live...I have a couple areas in mind. I'm thinking of going during the general season....I can archery hunt though. Any help would be welcomed and appreciated. Best of luck in your pursuit of the elusive coues. Scott G.

Twelve Days of Christmas: 34A Coues Hunt
gorczyca replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Doug- Great story and photos. I know it's been said and I'll add to it...we've all been there. I too have lost deer/javelina with well placed shots not to find or recover them after. It's all part of hunting as you know. You are a great hunter and we all know you did your best by the animal. A few years ago I was on an archery pig hunt w/ Scott Adams...I shot a pig at 18 yards and shot him square in the boiler maker...he got into a HUGE pile of boulders never to been seen from again. it happens. The UP side is...there's ALWAYS next year....err...this year. Casey- Go find doug's dead deer! Scott G. -
And on the 12th day of hunting...

Kuddos...great job on some great bucks. Loved the story too... Scott G. -
MY ASU education has paid off....and either way...he needs a new hat! LOL Casey- Tell us all how you hunt coyotes!!! Bet we'd all like to hear that. lol Scott G.
-
Both are more than adequate for coues. I have owned both. I sold the 7mm and kept the .270 (for sentimental reasons). But both preformed well on anything I shot. I'd chose the one you feel MOST confident in shooting and go with it. Best of luck. You won't go wrong with either choice. Scott G.
-
Casey- Great job on going 3 for 3. Now, if we can just get your dad a new hat. The one he has on is awful! Scott G.

Anyone Heard From The Super 80
gorczyca replied to GameHauler's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
That's what I told Casey when he called me in tears after shooting his buck. I told him he was young and had his entire life to hunt. I also explained that only 20% of hunters kill a deer. Let alone a nice buck like that. He's just having a pity party for himself. I think we should all give him a hard time. Lord knows he can dish it out...not it's time for him to take it. Casey- You SHOT a deer. You shot a nice buck. Crap happens. I shot a deer in Kodiak Alaska 6 times w/ a 300 weatherly mag before he went down. Made mince meat of him. Hardly had any met left to take home. But it was the experience. Not the size of the horns or whebyer or not you blew half his head off. He's bagged and tagged! Pick yourself up...smile and be thankful you had the opportunity to hunt and to harvest a great buck. It's the biggest buck you've taken in your short life. Now...as far as being a Caballero (that means fag in espanol)...I was a Sabrecat and we crushed you guys every year...even have a State Champ. Ring to back it up! LOL Not to mention ASU kept Uof A$$ out of a bowl game. lol Cheer up bud. If this is your worst problem in life...get down on your knees and thank the Good Lord! Scott G. PS- If you don't tell everyone what happened I WILL!!! LOL -

Best of luck Tommy-Boy! Can't wait to hear your stories and see pics of big dead deer. Scott G. -
That's pretty high even for Weatherby...ne glad you don't shoot a Lazzeroni. I pay $100/20 rounds! But I do make every shot count. I've had that gun on 3 hunts. 3 shots...3 kills. Best of luck! Scott G. PS- Go Sun Devils. Glad to see them turn it around. I'm an Alumn....
