Who says you need a Dec. tag to kill biggin's?
257wby replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
100 inches or not, thats a great buck. Good job Jim. Mike -
Thats a great buck Christian. A friend of mine and myself also scored this weekend. Scott shot his on Saturday morning after a brutal climb with a nice 167 yard shot that dropped him where he stood. I shot mine after Cameron and I moved down a finger to close the range to just under 550 yards. He watched the deer while I got set up and Scott kept us aprised from above. I told Cameron I was ready as soon as he turned broad side. I let the 257 weatherby with ballistic tip fly and hit him square in the heart. By the time I got another round in, I watched him fall over dead. I'm not sure who wrote the post about shooting on inclines, but thanks. Because of that post, I figured out to hold my 450 just above his heart, and being about 700 feet above the deer, I assumed that it would be considered a steep incline. I would like to thank my friends for all their help spotting and packing this big bodied deer out. Thanks to Scott, Cameron, Dillon, Dan and Aaron. The first picture is my deer that we scored at 95 1/2. Second is Scotts that we scored at 90 1/2.

I've made my list, but it doesn't look like there is enough stuff on it. Oh crap I just know I'm going to forget something. Mike

Has anyone used the Slik Sprint Pro? I'm looking for a light weight tripod and carbon fiber is pretty expensive. Not to mention the Slik Pro is lighter than any CF tripod I've found. Thanks everyone. Mike

Mike, I was kinda hoping to get around $125 but I'll entertain offers, I paid $190 last year. Thanks Mike

Thanks guys. I have the Bogen HD in green(o555nat), its a bit heavy, but doesn't move even in 30+ mph wind. But @7.6 pounds with the bogen pistol grip, going up hill takes a little xtra. I have been thinking about selling it if anyone needs a good tripod for video taping. Thanks again. Mike

I agree with Coosefan, maybe we can get a group discount on counseling. That story was too much Tyson, you win. Mike

Amanda, I'm not sure if this is an original idea, but here goes. I was wondering if you have ever done a CWT.com calender? I thought it would be cool if the members of this forum could vote on other members trophies to be pictured in the calender. Just a thought, as I have searched online for one with no success. Thanks again to you and the others involved in this great site. Mike

It looks like a hunting zoo. Hey Tony, what kind of impact would it have if some of those animals got out, and what happens to the property owner? Mike
