My wifes grandfather had that hunt a couple years ago and yes its a tought hunt. He is in his seventies so that made it a little more difficult for him. Any ways, alot of those elk would hit the golf course in town and had areas that they moved through on and off the GC. Tree stand hunting was too tough for him so we sat fence crossings in the area and got close but never sealed the deal. It isnt the highest qaulity hunt but doable.

Yeah I was up friday thru sun. Ran into a couple shed hunters with dogs that didnt help. Hopefully I can get some pics on the trailcam in the next couple weeks to pin one down.

Spent the weekend up in 22. Didnt see any bears. The canyon I was set up in has a good amount of older bear sign but havent seen any fresh stuff yet. I got my trail cam set up so hopefully get some pics of something. Im new to bear hunting, and was wondering if bear scat this early in the season looks that different considering their diet changes? Your are right about being a great time of year to be out in the woods. The turkeys were gobbling like crazy both mornings.

Im heading up this friday. Ive got the 22 tag as well. Ive havent seen any fresh sign, but quite a bit of older stuff.
