The biggest problem is finding descent block ice. We use to go to the crystal ice house located at Park ave where it crossed the railroad tracks. We would buy a 100 pound block of solid ice for $4.00. It would slide into a 100 qt cooler and last a week down in Mexico. The ice house closed about 20 years ago. Mostly what you find now is this compressed chip ice formed into a block by Reddy Ice "aka Shiddy Ice".

My 243 model seven doesn't shoot the heavy bullets well so I don't load for them anymore. It shoots bug holes with the lighter bullets.

My dad made me a sporterized 03A3 when I was 2 years old back in the mid 60's. It took at least a dozen coues and 4 elk. I also ended up with 2 more of the same rifles that he made since my brothers don't shoot. For the most part, I have retired it for the most part but still bring it along as a trusty back up.

One purpose of a premium hunt is to hunt a longer season and to pay extra for the longer hunts. A premium hunt doesn't have to be a trophy hunt, How can you call a September Bull elk tag the same as a cow tag when one is fairly easy to draw for while the other is not. Not likely This is true for a meat hunter. This is why you have cow tags, and keep them cheap and easier to draw for.

I haven't looked at the new proposals yet, but I have been an advocate of premium hunts for awhile. Is a 7 day October whitetail hunt equivalent to a 16 day December hunt? Is a September Bull Elk hunt equivalent to a November Bull Elk Hunt? Should a cow elk tag cost the same for a September Bull tag? ·

I believe the whole thing would be unconstitutional so it would'nt stand up in the courts. This battle was already fought before as the sage brush rebellion. Sportsmans groups opposed that as a land grab by ranchers. This thing should be voted down.
