Is a guided hunt as satisfying as do-it yourself?
lousyhunter posted a topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
First off, i have nothing against guided hunts or have I been on one. I was just wondering if the satisfaction was still the same knowing that all the "hunting" (for the most part)was done for you? Although I wouldnt rule out a guided hunt, it seems like alot of money for doing what alot of us enjoy doing for free. just curious what people thought. (im going off the fact that youre hunting in your own state.) -

I didnt say anything about being lazy or wastful, my point was, is it any less rewarding? Ive never been on one, i would love to be able to afford one, thats why im curious. -
I always thought with full moons, the deer would feed more at night and tend to be less active the day after.

i feel your pain, just look at my name. Me and my friend (mostly my friend) can glass deer anytime anywhere, except when we have a tag in our hand.

Precautions in southern units
lousyhunter replied to NativeRat's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
While hunting in 36a last Jan, me and my friend had a bust go down by our camp and had 25 or so illegals running all around us at night. BP told us that if they approach us they are basically "giving up", and suggested we drive them to the road and they would pick them up. We werent planning on driving anyone anywhere, luckily never came to that. I think we felt somewhat safe with the strong presence of BP, they respond very quickly. -
