With that said my dad just got back surgery so I went up to unit 10 and built him a blind out of sticks on public land, that is near a water hole but not on it!

Honestly the more road hunters there are the easier it is for me! I love hiking miles away from any road or trail! Keep pushing them away folks!

I am using my model 700 .243 for Mule Deer in the Bab. I killed 2 in the past within 200 yards and both were down in just a few seconds

That's terrible. Some people are really inconsiderate of others. I would be furious. Waiting THAT long to get a tag and then some dumb sh@t comes barging in on one of your few opportunities! I am really sorry about that man! I hope things turn out better tomorrow! Things do happen for a reason! Best of luck to you!

I havent really seen any maps of all the units on one map. But I do buy these 5FT maps for like 20$ from sportsmens and they have EVERY trail and water tank all types of lands from Forest, Private, and BLM. It has parts of the bordering units but it's the best thing I have came across so far. I use it when I dont have service for OnX

Just now, QCwtAddict said:Go onto the tonto national forest website and look up the actual closure orders. It is not the whole units, they're just listing which units each closure is in
Gotcha! Thank you!

Yeah I saw that! Good thing the FR22 opens on my first day of hunting. That was my planned route for hunting. Especially in a 2WD truck

Yes I believe so because I know they do that for turkey

So lately I have been thinking of starting to build points for a Cow Bison tag and I don't want to accidentally get it to early because I won't be able to afford paying for a tag or setting up a trip to hunt one. So I wanna wait a few draw cycles to actually full on apply. But let's say I put in just for a bonus point for the spring draw comming up and fall. Will those 2 applications count towards the 5 year loyalty point or will they not? Also lets say if I already have a loyalty point if I put in for just a bonus point would I loose the loyalty? Thank you!

I got mine a few weeks ago! Mailed in the coupon as soon as I got it!

I am going up to unit 10 in 2 weeks for scouting. My buddy who is up in 7W right now said he heard a lot for about 30 minutes at the crack of Dawn. But after that not much since. He is still there right now

2 weeks from now I want to go on a 2 day scouting trip in unit 10! I wanna check out perrin ranch but I see you have to be hunting. Should I bring my .22 or shot gun and say I am looking for squirrels and rabbits? Is that legal for me to do? Or should I stick to just near the ranch borders and listen for bugles?
I will be going on the last day of the early archery hunt so I won't be interfering with others hunts! Thank you!

A outdoor edge big game for skinning a lightweight Ferber pack saw and a cheap fixed blade for breaking in the field. But mostly due everything with the buck 110. In fact just sharpened it for the upcoming hunts. After two years and numerous animals later. I run a sharping steel in between uses. As for a sharpening tool I use a Lan s k y a sky diamond stone and a homemade leather strop. But will be going to razor edges stones next year.
Sounds good. Thank you

I am from AJ I hunt near the cow farms by the 202 south and hawes road. Near the cow farms! And yes they are legal! I get checked by game and fish there all the time. They check my gun my birds and see if i pick up my shells and they go to the next group. Tons of fun and still lots of birds! I bag out in 30 minutes

Gotcha😂

Gotcha! Thank you!

Yes! That is the type of metal in the blade! Not the brand if there even is a brand called that!

20 hours ago, rcdinaz said:I have almost every knife mentioned and IMHO replaceable blades really can’t be beat. Get a Havalon Titan or a Shockey and have both a folding and a replaceable. I would shy away from damascus online because they can be finicky . Benchmade are great I have 4 and a bunch of customs, carry a benchmade. Havalon now has the little plastic tool for removing blades and storing so it is simple, also gut hook, saw blade, and skinning blades. My most recent addition is a Kestrel, insanely lightweight and uses the same disposable blades.
Sounds good thank you! I never heard of that kinda material before

1 minute ago, HorseHunter said:Agreed, a Buck 110 and a sharpener is hard to beat. I received mine at 14 years old and my boys got theirs for graduating hunters safety. I have broken down many a animal with that blade. It fits the hand nice and the blade is stout enough to separate joints. Not as cool looking as Damascus steel but a real using heirloom.
Wow that sounds awesome!

That looks amazing! There was an episode on Randy Newberg's channel when he was here in AZ where they made some Javelina jams and it looks fantastic! This is it right here
