Thanks for all of the input. This truck is the fourth dodge diesel I have owned and the only one with the death wobble. All of them have had either a lift or a leveling kit on them. Odd thing is, I like this truck the best of any of them. I like the look of the truck leveled and am inclined to leave it on. I believe there is a cure, I just need to find it before I dump too much money in it. My tires are not much bigger than stock, 285x70x17. I also have a stock set of tires and rims that are like new and they do the same thing, although maybe not as bad. Believe me, I have researched this thing to death and tried a lot of the sugestions. To the tune of almost $2000.00 so far One thing that my internet research keeps leading me back to is caster adjustment. Seems that if the caster is adjusted to +5 degrees the problem is solved. Does anyone know of a good 4x4 shop in the valley that they have used. 4x4 and suspension shops are few in Payson. Thanks for the help, Gary

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that it has a 2 inch leveling kit on it.

Thought I'd share a couple of pics of some of the antlers I picked up while scouting for the whitetail hunt. The big sheds are both right sides off of the same buck. The horn with the broke off eyeguard scores 54 inches and the other one scores 59 inches.

0 for 4 but we had a great time!
Gary I replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Wow, That's proof that a hunt doesn't have to end with a kill to be a whole lotta fun. Those are some great pictures of some great country. Dang that cinnamon bear is fat, love to see bears while glassing. Glad you got to see a little more of that cave. It looks incredible. I'd give up the kill to have a hunt where you get to see a lot of interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing! -
I actually found the two big sheds two weeks apart. When I picked up the second one while I was hunting, I thought I had the other side of the first one.. I was surprised when I got home and realized they were both right sides. I glassed another bid shed while hunting but did not have time to go down and get it then. I have plans to head back out to get it and see if it matches either of these. The skull in the picture scores right at 100 inches. I will get a better picture or two of it posted up. In all I ended up picking up 13 whitetail sheds, 2 whitetail skulls, and 3 big elk antlers in 1 scouting trip and 3 days of hunting.

Here is a couple of pics of the bucks my son and I got this week. Not the huge bucks we all dream of, but meat in the freezer. My son just recently got out of the army after doing his 5 years. He was excited to finally get to hunt again so when this little buck walked up the hill to us while we were glassing he decided it was big enough. He waited for it to run as fast as it could for 455 yards before nailing him. I passed on 6 bucks before my buck was jumped by some other hunters and I watched him run and hide in a small brushy draw. I figured he would head to the saddle at the top of the draw so I climbed the hill to head him off. It worked perfectly and we arrived in the saddle at the same time. He made the mistake of running across the open hillside and I got him before he could get back in the brush. I had to go back to work the next day so this buck worked out well. Both pack out jobs were long and steep and completely boning them out saved a lot of work.

My son and I ran the Spartan race out at Rawhide weekend before last. Same kind of race, 8 miles and 15 obstacles. Lots of mud and water. We had a ball. tougher than I thought it would be, especially at almost 50 years old. Blew my knee out early in to it but finished the race. If my knee is back to healthy by then I will probably do this race too. Great thing to do with your kids, they love getting muddy. Maybe I will see you there. Good luck and have fun!

Congrats on taking such a great buck Josh. To stumble on and harvest a buck of this caliber is great, but to have all the time invested in him that you have is a big bonus. great story and pictures too. Bet you can't wait for that son of yours to be old enough for his first hunt! Do you have a score yet? -
Here are a couple pictures of the whitetail i got Friday afternoon. Was hoping (like everone) for something bigger but this was close enough. I passed on a smaller 3 point earlier but couldnt pass on this one. Sorry pictures aren't great but I couldn't figure out the self timer on the new camera and didn't think to take the instructions with me.

Who cares what it scores, that's one heck of a nice bull whatever the outcome. Congrats to the hunter that earned the right to wrap a tag on that antler.

Congrats on a great looking bull Josh, It's about time you got to put one on the wall. I need to get some pointers from you on picture taking, yours are always perfect. What unit did he come out of?

Thought I'd share pictures of my December '06 archery whitetail, back from the taxidermist. I think Clay at Mogollon Taxidermy did an awesome job. What do you think?

1979 Bass Tracker 17 1/2 ft. fishing boat, with 40 Hp Mercury motor. Boat has trolling motor, Hummingbird fish finder, trailer with spare tire, nearly new carpet, spare prop, other extras., Great starter bass boat. Has been sitting for a year or so, so it may need a new water pump. Motor ran good last time out. Also will need new batteries. I bought the boat and haven't had a chance to use it even once, (and probably won't have time to use it this fall, I got Elk and Deer tags to worry about) someone who will use it might as well have it. Just asking what I paid for it. First $1000.00 takes it home. Boat is located in Payson. Call me at: 928-474-1838 or 928-978-5488. For more pics or info, email antlerfinder@hotmail.com

Thanks, I'm pretty proud of him. Yea I got lucky and drew an October whitetail tag. Not my first choice, but very happy to have it anyway. Gonna try to hunt the big non-typical that was with my archery buck back in Dec. Did you draw a tag or sticking to archery this year? All the bucks in the picture are unit 22 bucks

The new buck grosses 117 3/8, the buck on the left scores 99 2/8, the middle buck scores 98 3/8

Bonus Points it took to draw or not draw Elk
Gary I replied to 111's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I only had 3 bonus points and drew a unit 23 rifle bull tag for November. Wanted to go archery but had most of the summer planned already so I applied for a late tag, not expecting to get it. Sometimes you get lucky. I don't believe bonus points mean very much unless you are maxed out. Since I started applying for Elk in 1981 I have drawn 20 tags! Ive been lucky enough to draw 9 archery bull tags, 7 archery cow tags, 3 rifle bull tags and 1 rifle cow tag. I have never had over 3 bonus points total. I have also drawn a buffalo tag, 2 antelope tags, a Bighorn sheep tag and a deer tag every year except 2004 and 2006. I'm really not bragging (well maybe a little) but rather pointing out that the bonus point system does not work very well. I feel for the people that put in year after year and don't get a tag, especially the kids. the AGFD needs to do something different to make things work out a little more fair for everybody. I don't know what the solution might be but something should be done. Until that happens I'll keep putting in like everybody else and hope for the best, I'm sure the luck will dry up eventually. Congrats to those that drew and condolances to those that didn't. -
Cough it up Pops You got a great Buck last year But he got to hunt Elk last year! Oh well if he keeps his grades up He will more than likely get it, nothing like hunting with your kids!
-
YEA BABY, Drew a unit 23 late rifle bull tag! Now my son has 8 months to try to talk me out of it. He better start now! No goat tags, but who cares! I'M GOING ELK HUNTING!

WOW, looks all occupations are taken, except wastwater treatment plant worker. I guess i'll take that one. I,ve been working at the Payson treatment plant for 22 years now. Started digging ditches and now in management, most days i wish I was still digging ditches. I also own a small home maintenace and repair business, been real busy with that lately. During March and April you can usually find me in the woods looking for shed antlers, some of you have probably seen me out there somewhere. I also am building a house in Montana so a couple of trips up there a year are always in the works. If anyone is planning to hunt or vacation to Western Montana in the future and need a place to stay I have 20 acres on Noxon Reservoir. Lots of deer and great fishing on the property. Electric and sewer are there for trailer hookups if needed. or if you don't mind staying in a 3/4 done house thats possible too. Noxon reservoir is on the Clark Fork River and my property is near the town of Trout Creek, about 2 hours Northwest of Missoula. Let me know.... antlerfinder@hotmail.com

Thought I'd share a picture of the buck I killed dec. 30th with my bow. I glassed this buck from about 600 yards first thing in the morning in a spot that I had put a stalk on a non typical buck the weekend before. I watched him for about an hour before starting a stalk. He was busy keeping 2 other bucks away from his 2 does. One of the other bucks was the non typical from last weekend. Once this buck bedded down I started a stalk that would be within his sight most of the way. I spent 4 and a half hours on my hands and knees crawling across a cactus flat to get within range of him. I had to get past the other two bucks and one of the does to get a shot. Finally at about 63 yards I could get no closer. When I sat up to draw the buck stood up to look at what was moving. I held on his chest ,( I still shoot bare bow, so no pins to look at) and released, The buck jumped at the shot and I hit him in the spine in front of his hip. He went down almost immediately but I knew he might not stay down so I ran up to him and let the air out of him for good. To say I was excited would be an understatement. The buck was bigger than I had thought, I had guessed him about 105 inches. After packing him out 3 miles and returning home I had him green scored by an official measurer here in Payson. He added up 117 3/8 gross and 114 7/8 net. Both bases are 5 1/8 inches and inside spread is 17 3/8. I'm excited to see what he officially scores after the drying period. I've been fortunate to have taken several other Whitetails with a rifle, including 3 that are over 100 inches, but this is my first with a bow, also my best ever. Wish I had better pictures but I left the camera home that day because of the long hike in, trying to cut some weight.
