Roasted Brussels sprouts & onions, plus pan seared salmon, last night. Love grilled/charred veggies, and I'm really liking the 'grill roaster pan thingy' that I picked-up at Ace a few weeks ago. PS: Bought that used grill from @Big Browns for $50 several years ago, and still going strong!

All set, Joel!

Hey guys! Been absolutely BURIED in work travel for the past two weeks and have not had much time to look here (or tend to basically ANYTHING else fun/personal...). Just saw this, plus another reference to an account takeover scam late last week... @joelpresmyk, call or text me at 602-399-4769 and we can hopefully straighten out your account. (Unless you just want to keep this one and I can kill the other.... Just say the word and I'll do that.)

I'm suddenly starving for dinner.

Awesome. With the capers, it looks like a sandwich play on piccata. A great sauce can do great things.
-
That looks freaking delicious!

OUTSTANDING, Hector!!! Great pic! (Better on the laptop screen, than on my phone! LOL)

Used to catch them like crazy on small chartreuse power grubs on a VERY small jig head (like I think 1/32 oz...). Ultra-light tackle with 3-4lb test line. Was a BUNCH of fun if/when you got into them! Good luck to all of the crappie fishers!! S.

Yep, I grew-up in Kearny and spent time running around those parts in the late 70s - early 80s. We mainly hunted quail out there and focused our deer hunting in the washes/hills closer to town. Some of the local Kearny guys used to kill BIG deer out in that area (Grayback....) though. +1 on ATVs/UTVs.... Like just about every place else...

Ah, I misunderstood. Thought you were asking if this bull was killed in Show Low....

Great info! Weekend before last, my AZT partners and I hiked from the Kelvin bridge to Picket Post. We set-up a car camp roughly mid-point at Cochran (south side of Gila) and waded across to the trail. I wasn't sure of water level and whether it was wadable or not, so I did a little scouting test run 4 weeks ago. On my test run, the river was easily wadable, with the water coming just about mid calf. On the expedition weekend, we showed-up to wade across to do our hike, and the water was up nearly to our waists. I was VERY surprised at the increase in water release from two weeks prior, especially given the lack of rain this year. Chalked it up to irrigation water contract/commitments downstream.... Enjoy that crappie fishing, guys!!!! (Side note: Martinez Canyon south of Picket Post is freaking amazing country!)

Cool elk! Also cool that someone is still reading Outdoor life (Brings back memories.....)!
-
Joined a buddy on his bull elk hunt in late November. Cooked up some of the loin/backstrap that he shared, this weekend. (Got distracted and left it on the grill about 2 minutes longer than intended.... )

Pine Grove and Rattlesnake. With a just a bit of research, you'll find them. GMU-6A-2024.pdf From AZGFD website: "mountain mahogany, and juniper berries. Water is always important, and stock tanks are abundant in the GMU. The Rattlesnake Quiet Area is a good area to start looking. The Pine Grove Quiet Area and surrounding areas are also good places to look."

Maybe check-out the 'quiet areas'.... Good luck and have fun! S.

SWEET mini bike!!!! Brings back memories! As a boy, I got hold of an old mini bike frame (I think I found it at the junk yard or something...). Grabbed a 3.5hp Briggs and Stratton off an old mower, and with a little mechanical coaching & help from my old man, we turned that thing into a lot of riding fun!! Eventually upgraded to a 5hp engine. I grew-up in Kearny and spent hours and hours exploring the Gila and washes around town on that thing. Great project to teach a young kid the basics of mechanics. Good luck with the sale!

I'm on board with a good super bowl get-together. A good reason to chill at home & cook and have my kids and other family/friends come over for some fun. I'm not that into it, but I do enjoy a good game (which this one wasn't much of.... LOL). As for the half time shows, I just straight-up don't really care who performs and for what reason. If I'm not interested, then I'll just ignore it and chat with my people or do whatever. Sort of like I ignore a bunch of other stuff in everyday life that really doesn't concern or impact me.

NOTHING beats hunting with your kids! LOVE IT!!!!

I'm a fan of landowner tags only in New Mexico, where my sons and I hunt pronghorn every year. LOL

Great times with the kids! AWESOME!

Year after year! Good stuff!
