The Answer to Our Borders?
stanley replied to stanley's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Both really good points Pine Donkey and Non Typical, IMO....... Work on the policy at the top and at the same time let the heros on the ground do their jobs with the right tools (and trust them to do their jobs without extreme scrutiny....)! How to do that though? Lobbying? Grass roots (seems like that falls on deaf ears....)? S. -
How do we shut it down though? There are fences, sensors, observation posts, agents (Like this brave soul.... ). What is the answer to shutting it down? S. PS: I don't disagree with you about Montini generally being a tool. Maybe his point in this case though, is that for this specific moment let's honor the brave men who were involved. Then, separate of that let's talk politics in another thread/debate..... Not sure though because the LAME azcentral.com site is now charging for access!

Actually, there are many countries in the world who don't have sealed borders. Truly sad situation for the agent, family, and friends. S.

I'm really bummed that I can't join this year. Gabe will no doubt work hard on cobbler redemption! Maybe Bobby or someone will smoke a turkey?? S.

SD Backcountry Archery Buck (Kill Shot VIDEO!!!)
stanley replied to ADDICT's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
"Since I’ve gotten in to archery hunting, I have gotten away from score so much as just hunting the best buck in the situation." I really like that statement. So many are out for the highest 'score', but I think the vast majority of us all know that it is really about the 'hunt'! Congrats on a great hunt, and also congrats on a nice production job on the video! Thanks for sharing with the site! S. -
Holy &^%!!!! Wow! Elk hunting, family, children, and AWESOME success!! No way it can get any better than that! You and your's must be living right! Good show! S.

That's a beauty of a shotgun! I'm a big Remington Auto fan. They're great guns! Unfortunately this month's budget won't let me add to my collection..... I hope you find a buyer! S.

Can Mitt possibly dig himself any deeper?
stanley replied to PRDATR's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I heard that Letterman devoted a good chunk of time to Romney bashing last night as well.......I don't watch that trash but you are right......people listen to that junk and drink the kool aide............ I agree 100% that it sad that people base their voting choice on garbage/comedy vs. facts. No doubt, the average person is very ignorant regarding the actual facts. (Frankly, I place myself in that category sometimes depending on the specific political issue. I'm quite ignorant sometimes.....) That being said, I absolutely LOVE watching the comedy shows. SNL, Colbert, Stewart, etc..... So what if the whole episode was pounding on Romney? It's a COMEDY show!!! Do you think they should be censored??? Pure entertainment for me, and funny as heck IMO! S. -
Saw that on the early morning news today while getting ready for work. R.I.P. S.

Ah..... Sorry I didn't remember meeting you. I have met a LOT of folks there over the years! This will be one of the first years in MANY that I will not be down there. My two youngest got Kiabab Junior tags (3 weeks away!). My oldest son and I, plus a couple of friends, have 24A tags this year. I grew-up in Kearny and decided to give some of the old stomping-grounds a try this year. Good luck on the hunt! I'll miss being down there. Get in touch with Gabe and the guys prior. They'll take good care of you guys! S.

+1 Frustrating, but that's the game. S. PS: Nothing wrong with a little venting!

Get in touch with the SCI guys from Tucson. (azsci@yahoo.com) They'll give you the information you're looking for. They run an awesome youth camp! It will be interesting this year, being over Thanksgiving. Typically, there will be some breakfast provided early and burgers/dogs around lunch time. They also like to do a pot-luck at least one night, plus they'll provide other food. Gabe will usually break-out the dutch-ovens and make enough pie/cobbler for the entire camp! Send them an e-mail and they'll give you the details. They're a good group of folks! Good luck to your son! S.

Can Mitt possibly dig himself any deeper?
stanley replied to PRDATR's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Yep, seems like politiions can't say a single thing without it being taken out of context or used as a 'sound bite'. '47% not paying income tax' or 'You didn't' build that....'. Either way, the media (liberal or conservative) is going to manipulate, exploit, twist, and do what ever can be done to spin it to the advantage of their side. Politics truly makes me sick. I agree that it is good he is sticking by his comments and doing his best to ensure folks understand the true message he was trying to convey. S. -
Awesome Terry! Congrats to you!! S.

+ One! Brian, thanks much for providing your professional opinion. S.

You always have some of the best pictures, Doug! Love seeing the pics of the 'adventures of Doug and Rica'! As you know, we lost out little Ruby a couple of weeks ago. Died way too young..... Here's a couple of pics in memorial to her. A lovely and sweet Vizsla, and Greta's best friend! S. PS: Hunterjohnny, sorry for your loss. Tough stuff..... The day we picked her from the litter of 6 pups! Greta has grown a LOT since that day! July 4th, 2010 in Flagstaff! The two of them used to love to hang-out in the grass together! After a fun evening of bird hunting in the fall of 2009!

Thanks for the reply regarding the Junior hunts. Prior to seeing your reply, I called the G&F and confirmed the same thing. Suppose the kids and I will have to stick to does, grouse, and amazing scenery! Again, BIG contrats on an amazing trophy! S.
