    Jones Boys Getting it Done!

VERY AWESOME!!!!! Looks like you all had an amazing time! Elk and deer at the same time! Kind of like an 'Arizona Safari'!! Great pics and story of your time up there! The meat pole shot is awesome! Kudos for getting the kids out there and enjoying the great things we all have! S.

    2012 Junior Deer Hunt

Thanks for all of the kind words, folks. Yes, it was an awesome time! Even with the shoulder situation, I would do it again and again! Truth be told, I was actually able to 'milk' the shoulder injury all weekend long! I didn't gut, drag, skin, lift, or cut a deer all weekend! That's what great friends are for! Also, when it came time to pack-up and head home, I didn't lift or haul anything! Again, good friends and kids pulled my weight! (At one point, one of my buddies said to someone "OK, did anyone actually see him fall???" ) The real bummer was that I wasn't able to break-out my guitar for the traditional picking/singing around the fire. Oh well, next time I suppose..... TJ, the venison will be outstanding. The backstraps on those little yearlings are amazing! Eileen, YES! Pray for more snow!!! Good luck to you up there! Next stop is a hunt in late Nov with my oldest son and friends (with a little scouting and quail hunting in between....)! Happy hunting all! S. PS: Everyone should pack lots of Alieve in your hunting supplies! Didn't work magic, but took the edge off.....

WTS .30-06 Remington 700 BDL Rifle (Price Drop!)

I really like the BDLs. I own one in .7MM Rem Mag caliber and love shooting it. Wish I had some extra money at this time, and I likely would have bought this. Good luck selling it! Hopefully you find someone who is looking for an awesome all-around rifle! S.

Shout out to Game and Fish

+1 some western justice. PETA people shooting-up trailers? Um, I'm not sure how anyone could come to that logical conclusion right away. Not too many PETA members running around the woods with 9MM pistols, I'm guessing. My bet would be that it was some dumb yahoo (maybe liquored-up). Either way, it sucks! S.

Has this ever happened to one of your dogs?

Sorry for the loss. That is a real drag. They can definitely die suddenly of natural causes, just like humans can. A buddy of mine had a dog that died very suddenly a couple of years ago. He was there when it happened, and said his dog simply stood-up whined a little for a moment and then fell over dead on the spot. The vet suspected a heart attack in that case. S.

    20c EARLY RIFLE INFO

Absolutely NOTHING wrong with asking for some advice/help on an area you're not familiar with. Haters will hate, and some will throw out a negative comment or two but that is their problem if they want to spend their energy on negative comments, IMO..... Those that want to chip-in if they have information can. Those that don't want to (or don't have the information) don't have to. A few folks, if they are going to direct to specific areas will prefer to do it via private message as opposed to on the public thread. Unfortunately, I don't have any information that I can personally share. I just don't know 20C that well. I hope you get some helpful information! Good luck on your hunt and thanks for using this site! S.

We Lost one of the good ones

Not sure what you mean by your comments, COUESAZ. I meant no disrespect to him, nor did I mean to tarnish his reputation. I was simply trying to point out that this is a lesson for all of us. I enjoy a cocktail and/or a beer on occasion and this type of incident reminds me that I need to be prudent and safe when I do that, else I might leave my loved ones grieving or kill someone else. Anytime this kind of tragedy happens it should be a reminder to us all, IMO. S.

We Lost one of the good ones

Wow...... A reminder to ALL of us to be prudent and smart when choosing when to drink and what to do when drunk. I suppose this is a reminder that nobody, regardless of your age, profession, etc. is above reproach. So sad for his family and friends! Another Border agent killed

"None of us know what went down, but I'm not buying the friendly fire narrative. It just hit the news outlets too fast. There is something not right with this. The families deserve the truth. http://www.examiner....agent-s-death-1" Very sad source of news. Do you know the back-ground of the examiner.com? It's kind of like Wikipedia. Virtually ANYONE can and will post stories there. Looking at the spin in this write-up, I find it ironic reading a story like this that calls-out the 'mainstream' media for spin. If it wasn't friendly fire, I'm thinking the two other border patrol agents would be out there telling their side of the story. Unless somehow the government is keeping them quiet? Yea, right...... Conspiracy theory is amazing and sad sometimes. S.

    Another Border agent killed

Bottom line is that the investigation shows that the agents fired on each other. What ever the circumstances, it is a tragedy. What a crappy deal....... S.

Nice job on the website!!! Plus we have our own local 'Chef' gracing the center cover pic! Now maybe that makes him a 'Celebrity Chef'!! Thanks for sharing! S.

    Another Border agent killed

+1, none of us were there to know what was running through those Agents minds. Everything to date is merely speculation and until the facts have surfaced we can only assume what happen? I pray for all those involved. , +2 No matter what is determined by the facts of the investigation, it is very sad. Casey, why don't you buy the friendly fire thing? There is a contradiction in your reply that I don't understand. You state that Lance is spot on, but then that you don't buy the friendly fire thing. Know something that we (or the investigators) don't?
  24. So sad what happened to agent Nicholas Ivie early this morning near Naco. RIP and hopefully his friends and family will find justice and peace. I sincerely appreciate all law enforcement officials who put their lives on the line every day. On the thread mentioning this tragedy, the 'close our borders' debate was started. Casey made some comments regarding my question of 'how?', and I was sincerely interested in understanding more of it. Election time is here and I feel like this should be a big topic. However, I haven't heard much about it yet. Maybe tomorrow's debate will offer some questions about it, especially with what happened today. The response to my question of 'What more can we do?' from Casey was basically around money, technology, and the ability to execute on the job of being an agent without fear of breaking some kind of rule/code, etc... Seriously though, what does that mean? I'm thinking it means we need to have the best technology money can buy, and be willng to deploy it to the border. I'm also thinking that maybe there should be some reform in the policy/proceedures that our agents must follow. What reform is necessary though? Specifically, how are the agents hands tied? Is that the answer, or is it a big ol' fence? I'm hoping this thread can stay positive in nature. I'm honestly and sincerely interested in what some of the answers may be..... Thoughts? Comments? S. PS: Casey, Scott, and ALL other BP agents and all others in law enforcment. THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK!
  25. Wish I could get out there tomorrow. Nothing like the opening day of bird season! Unfortunately I'm buried in work tomorrow. Then on Saturday/Sunday my boys have a rowing competition (Crew) that I need to be at, so I won't be out on opening weekend this year. Post a report please! S.
