Eberlestock X3 review by Santana Outdoors
stanley replied to Santana Outdoors's topic in Other Hunting Gear
Nice job on the review. I'm a big fan of Eberlestock packs, and own the X1A1 plus one of the J34s (Just One). I like the looks of that wider scabard on the X3. Thanks for sharing! S.- 2 replies

I've had luck with Kastmasters on the beach along Las Conchas. I would wade-out as far as I could at the lowest-tide, then wade/fish (waste-deep water or more) casting Kastmasters as far out as I could as the tide slowly came-in. I was using 6lb test and a pretty good sized Kastmaster on an open/spinning reel so I could get them WAY out there! When the fishing was hot I would get a nice one on (Corvina, Trigger, etc...) on almost every cast. Lots of fun! Good luck! S. PS: Watch-out for the Stingrays. One of them nailed me on the ankle and I paid dearly for it.....

Just digging into work this morning, and a reminder popped-up in my Outlook calendar that said "post a reminder to TJ so there is no repeat of last year"! I put it on my calendar about a year ago based on a thread you posted. Seems to me that you forgot a VERY special occasion last year, so here is a friendly reminder! S.

You're GOOD folks TJ & Peg!!! Sincere congrats and happy wishes to you both! S.

that's funny right there......I was thinking about that the other day when I was driving... LOL! so does he still get credit when you had to remind him?? LOL! and by the way.... he forgot 2 years in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! James Yep! Actually now that I think about it, shouldn't TJ have an Outlook calendar too? Couldn't he just post his own reminder to himself? To your point though, maybe TJ owes me some kind of commission? S.

If I was going to the Salt for catfish, that's the spot I would go to. Muddy Banks / Diversion area....... A well known 'not so secret' honey hole for cats! We used to go there tons when I was in high school, and always had a blast. The problem at that location could be your buddy's hip though. It's about 90% river-rock and soft sand. I've been to Bartlett a couple of times for cats, and we did pretty good. Plus at Bartlett you there are many places that you can drive right to the water. Depending on your friend's condition, that might be something for you to check-out. Good luck! S.

With the deer draws coming, I couldn't resist posting these links. My kids are all a bit older now and I don't think we'll be back up there again (at least not for a Youth hunt). We've had some amazing great memories there over the years! Have fun up there!!! Hey Carlos! I just saw this post. Unfortunately it's looking like I'll be out of the country for work during that time. My brother-in-law is a big golfer though, and he lives in Tucson. I'll definitely forward this info to him! S.

VERY awesome, Peg!!!! You must have a great guide! S.

Man, that's a sweet looking machine! A guy could get rich making/selling those things based on the responses here! Congrats to the winning bidder/trader! S.

'AZGFD is a just a bunch of money hungry......' Really? You must not know many Wildlife Managers in this state. In case you haven't noticed, EVERYTHING is more expensive and is changing every year (not just with AZ G&F). Do you really expect the department to run on the same budget they have in the past? The whole 'it's all about money' argument makes it sound like the department is getting rich off of this stuff. Again, do you actuall know many folks in the department at the grass roots level? I agree with your comments regarding their solicitation of opinions, to a point. You're right in that not much is going to stop them from raising fees in the future. Tough crap for you and I! It's simple economics.... Get involved and organize your input. Letters, phone calls, and participation in Commission meetings may not change the world, but it can't hurt, IMO. S.

That is a GREAT price on a GREAT tent. Anyone who has used a Springbar knows they are an amazing design! Kodiak has done a great job of providing this tent design with great quality! Congrats to the winning bidder! S. PS: A buddy of mine uses this tent, and there are some awesome awning/vestibule additions that can expand the 'rain cover' for camping gear in a nice way for this tent.

Wow! Big one, for sure! Might want to post over at MM. S.
