I'm kind of a passive fan, I suppose. Have always enjoyed his shows when I have seen him, but have never listened to his podcast (maybe I should check it out). Seems like a pretty cool dude with his head on strait. I'm going to his show at the Improv in a few weeks. Looking forward to that. S.

Reminder: Trail cam meeting/webcast tonight at main G&F office

Authoritarian state, now they wear bullet proof vests that say police on them, They've always been certified LEOs (at least the wardens..... maybe not the biologists...). If I was patrolling solo dealing with dudes with guns on a regular basis, I'm thinking I would wear a bullet proof vest too. -
So far it looks that way except for state and county land. National forest still open, but theyre supposed to be updating area closures this week. Thanks Not to get all 'technical', but this makes me wonder; If the fire restrictions prohibit discharging a firearm, I'm thinking that could still be a problem. Not sure how closely the Forest Service folks might police that, but just made me wonder. If so, maybe turkey hunt with a bow for those who want to follow the exact letter of the law? S.

Same here The e-mail address that I was notified by was: DoNotReply-sci-nevada.com I received it on the 12th of May. Don't really know (or care.... ) why it says May 31, 2018 on the internal text. Hadn't even noticed that. Guessing it was either a typo in the body of the e-mail, or maybe that is the date they are supposed to notify everyone by??? I'm just happy I'll be chasing muleys with a bow in Nine Mile! S.

Well, so much for my annual June Black River trip with my buds. All good though, if it means a little better chance of a fire not being started! Will gladly wait for monsoon rains to green things up a bit and maybe hit it in late July or August. Thanks for posting! S.

Add the item to your Amazon cart, then when you go to 'checkout' it gives you the opportunity to enter the promo code. It will adjust the price at that point. S. -

Sounds like in your case a big fence would make a better neighbor. +1!! Also it seems like a quick survey of property boundaries could/would fix the driveway encroachment. Some of these stories are crazy. Guess I've been really lucky with neighbors. Occurs to me that simple decency and mutual respect is the key ingredient to good neighbors.

My buddy from Utah put me in with him, and he's now in Costa Rica surfing/playing for two weeks. Guess I'll have to be patient.... Good luck to all!! ___________________________________________________ Update: Just checked my e-mail! SUCCESSFUL: General Season Archery Buck Deer

Bummer!! I'm waiting to hear regarding archery deer. General season for southern region. Odds pretty good, so I'm hopeful.... S.

Hiking in before light! Scare them off?
stanley replied to stanley's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
"..... treat darkness like cover." Yup, thinking that is basically the conclusion that I came to! My buddy's encounter last Fall surprised me, but likely it was the close proximity that was the real shocker (Like he maybe could have knifed it!). Makes sense they feel secure in the dark though, I suppose. I do too! S. -
I honestly don't really care if they choose to sell firearms or not. Will just purchase from another source. As mentioned by others, never really had thought about buying guns there anyway. S.

Let me know if you end-up with the 36A/B Jr. hunt! I've helped & mentored many times down there (both my own kids and others....). The crew that runs the Jr. camp down there are a great bunch of dudes.
-
+1 Or the 36A/B Jr. hunt, which is an 'any antlered deer' tag. Plenty of road hunting opportunities in 36A & 36B where you could come across either a whitetail or a muley on that hunt. S.

Who here has dealt with Plantar Fascittis????? (BTW, if you don't know what it is, like I didn't, well.... Consider yourself lucky! Inflammation of the tissue connecting your heel bone to your toes.... SUCKS!) Anyway, I've been on a bit of a health kick lately and started hiking here in Central Phx 3-5 days per week a couple of months ago. Nothing too major. 4 or 5 miles at a time. Camelback, Dreamy Draw, etc... So a couple of weeks ago the pain started. I've since talked to a few folks and found that it is apparently fairly common. Looking for any advice or magic remedies that anyone might have, please. So far it looks like ice, Alieve, cut WAY back on my hiking for a while, etc. I just bought those inserts for my hiking boots that are made especially for the condition. Any other ideas from anyone who has experienced it? Thanks in advance! S.

100% agree on the concept of (and hope for) increased competition keeping the overall price of services down! One HUGE risk to the price of content on the internet in the future though, is the FCC's repeal of 'Net Neutrality' in November of last year. Net neutrality meant that ISP's could not step-in and limit or influence which websites their users were utilizing. With the repeal of that policy, it opens the door for ISPs to control the content that their users have access to. It is not done yet, as the repeal must go through congress. Scary stuff, IMO though.... S.

stanley replied to codyhuntsaz's topic in Classified Ads
Ummm....... You've been trying to sell them here since December with no takers? I'm thinking you might want to go to plan B and post on stubhub or ticketmaster, or something. Sites where people actually go to buy concert tickets. Good luck! -
News last night said no aircraft on this fire due to high winds yesterday.

Live MeatEater Podcast at the Improv in Tempe
stanley replied to rossislider's topic in The Campfire
Don't you listen to his podcast? Lol. He is a proponent of the north american model. I have never heard an opinion on auction or raffle tags. I would guess since he really dosnt like trophy hunting and is a diy guy that he would be against them. Nope, never heard his podcast. Have only watched his show on occasion..... Based on what I've seen, I guess I'm not surprised he is a fan of the North American model. S. -

If there is truly an 'open' Q&A session, I would love to hear his thoughts on the topic of raffle/auction tags. Curious on his position on the topic. Has anyone ever heard his position on the North American game model? S. -

Thanks for the tip! Just locked-in a couple of VIP tickets! Should be pretty cool. S. -
THIS!!! +1 I ordered a couple off of Amazon (one for home and one for under my desk at work...). Easier than a golf ball because it doesn't tend to slip-out from under as much. Anyway, I'm using it. Already seems to be making a difference. Plus got some 'Sof Sole' inserts from REI for my boots & shoes. I can already tell it is starting to improve a bit. Have cut back my hiking a little as well, but still getting a few miles in 3-4 days a week. Still feels like it might be a long road to get back to normal, but seems relief is in sight! BIG THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR INPUT! Hike on!!! S.
