Not exactly. My college kids filed returns but did not get stimulus money because even though they filed, I still claimed them as a dependent on my taxes. I guess that makes sense since if they are dependent on ME, then why would they need to 'depend' on the government for money. LOL Not really sure what sucks about your oldest being in college and not getting one? My two youngest are in the same boat. Since they are my dependents (at least as far as Uncle Sam is concerned), they are not eligible (Even though both are working to help support themselves while in college....).

I just bought a new place last fall. While shopping, I didn't necessarily avoid homes that were covered by HOA, but I was definitely a little biased towards those without. Ended-up without an HOA, and I'm glad for that. I find it somewhat amusing that someone would buy in to a development knowing there are HOA guidelines/rules, and then complain after the fact. Glad it worked-out for you, Casey!

LOVE the M77's!!!! That is a beauty! I bought one from a member on this site a few years ago, and it is now my primary hunting rifle. Good luck selling!

100% agree with your sentiment regarding washing hands and slight distancing (6ft) for the average person. Also isolation/quarantine for those at high risk. NO need to shut down as/if people practice some basic hygiene and distancing. Still wondering what your source of information is regarding 1/2 of the deaths being on the Navajo Nation, though. Everything I've seen says majority of deaths have been in the major metro areas, which makes sense simply from a 'numbers' perspective. Hmmm..... I guess I really don't see a problem with it. I'll still go out in the hills and shoot, and sometimes I might be tempted to check-out one of these places. Guess everyone who has ever gone to Ben Avery or Usery must be an idiot.... 🙄🤣

Interesting. I think it's cool that they are doing this. That being said, I'm super curious about how it will be managed. In reading the story, it appears that these will be very small set-ups (small compared to Usery or Ben Avery). 4.5MM+ people in the valley, so of course demand is through the roof!!! So again, I'm really curious how it will be managed. Staffed?? Or just sort of open with "gentleman's rules"?? Either way, I like that they are doing it. S.

**SOLD lol** 3 1/2 Inch Browning 12 Gauge Turkey Loads **FREE TO GOOD HOME**
stanley posted a topic in Turkeys!
I'm an idiot! In my haste ordering some turkey loads, I ordered 3 1/2 inch as opposed to 3 inch My browning A500G will only handle up to 3 inch. Anyone hunting with a 12 gauge that can handle this length of shells (break-action, perhaps)? If so and if you want these shells, let me know and they are yours! S. -

I’m heading back up for part two of my hunt on Thursday evening. If luck shines, I’ll keep a bunch of tail feathers for your friend. 🙏🏼 S.

Awesome!!!! NOTHING like hunting with the kids!! Grew-up in Kearny, and have lots of great memories of crossing the Gila to hunt 37B in the old days. Love it!!! S.

SO much info and stats going all around the internet regarding the infection & death rates. Happen to see this on a local site this morning: https://www.azfamily.com/news/continuing_coverage/coronavirus_coverage/breakdown-of-coronavirus-cases-in-arizona-by-zip-code/article_076dfe2e-7cf0-11ea-8889-270baa74f46e.html What source is reporting over 1/2 of AZ deaths being on the Navajo nation? Above article says native Americans are 16% of fatalities (still WAY disproportionate to population, but nowhere near "over 1/2"). Did the same source say that all flu deaths had stopped??

Ah, OK. Looks like really a 'corner case' scenario in the case where 2020 AGI is substantially higher than 2018/2019. I'm guessing would have to do with the effect of being in a significantly higher tax bracket based on said substantially higher earnings. IMO, that would be appropriate for that small number of folks since based on their significantly higher earnings this year, that they really don't have a need for the stimulus money anyway. Seems that those who REALLY need the money will not be in a position to have to repay it (in the form of a higher tax bracket....).

As a 'mod/admin' on the site, I generally try to bite my tongue on topics that can become sort of hot/debatable, but can't help myself from jumping-in here. 🤣 Was chatting with a friend last night, and she mentioned that she had $800 from the stimulus program deposited into her bank account yesterday (Her AGI dictated that she not get the max $1200.). She commented that she had already paid her bills this month and is still employed anyway, so the money was just going to go directly to her savings account. This kicked-off a debate between the two of us regarding how the stimulus money is being distributed, and for what purpose. My friend's comment regarding just putting the money into her savings account led me to ponder how many folks are doing that? If the money simply goes into a savings account, then it will not 'stimulate' the economy at all, because the whole idea is that folks will spend the money to generate commerce and push a money back into the system. I generally am a bit of a moderate when it comes to political issues, but fiscally I am VERY conservative. Based on that, this whole topic just sort of gnaws at me a little. Anyway, just sort of ranting..... 🙄 S. BTW, as a side note Edge, I'm not sure where/what source Consumer Affairs is. Everything that I have seen indicates that folks who get the money will NOT have to repay in any way. This article is just one of many that make it pretty clear. https://www.newsweek.com/do-i-have-payback-my-stimulus-check-1498111

BTW, the arrow heads are cool. I used to find shards of pottery in various places around Kearny where I grew-up, but I never could come-up with an arrow head. Awesome! S.

Not really what you're looking for, but I "found" a Rosy-faced Lovebird munching seeds out of my bird feeder this morning! I didn't even know we had those suckers here in AZ. Working from home has started to turn me into a hack-birder.

Michigan Governor Bans Boating and Fishing From a Power Boat
stanley replied to deercrazy's topic in The Campfire
Holy heck, Del. Chill, dude..... I don't know if I have EVER elicited a response that long before! 😳🤣 Seriously man, you are reading WAY too much into my very simple response challenging whether the tweet in question really meant that the governor had "banned" the flag. I was not at all questioning the validity (or not) of banning the sale/commerce of so called 'non-essential' stuff. Regarding liberals loving people like me, my experience is that when I sit down and chat with (debate) far lefties, they tend not to like my take much more than the far righties. My personal experience has been that I am 'not-loved' equally by both sides! 🤣 -

Now now..... Obviously just because something isn't spelled-out doesn't mean it didn't happen (Like, I get that there is a chance....). But honestly though, with that logic then ANYTHING 'could' happen to be true. Again, basically feeds the fake-news machine. BTW, well played on the "C". -

I know it's a real tweet. Quite a stretch to go from a tweet regarding what is essential vs. non-essential, to "Now she's banning US flags!". Classic fake-news scenario, IMO..... -

I'm going to assume that you posted this as a joke?? 🤣😂🤣 -
I'm not a fire manager or forester, so guess I don't know much. That being said though, it seems to me like it's not a bad thing to error on the side of caution. I'll gladly give-up a little time in the woods if it means less of a chance for some bonehead to start a potentially catastrophic fire.

That can be a great hunt!!! Put some time in before (if possible) and during the hunt, and you should have fun! Good luck! S.

Anyone know the family washed away in Tonto Basin?
stanley replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
Well I suppose I would say that each of the situations you pointed out above should be looked at individually for evidence of negligence and/or malice. If there is an indication of negligence in the eyes of the law when looking at each of those situations, then yes, I guess charges might be warranted. No doubt the whole thing stinks to high heaven. -

Ugh..... SO sad of a situation. I cannot imagine what the parents have been living with and going through every day since. For me though, in addition to intent I think that there is a consideration negligence. Whether malice existed or not, there can still be negligence. I think it is quite obvious that the parents did not and would not 'intend' to hurt or kill their kids, but they absolutely crossed the creek with intent (not by accident). The law may find that by intentionally crossing the creek under those conditions (ignoring barriers - however common that may or may not be by locals at that location), that they were in fact negligent in their actions resulting in the death of those children. However crappy it is for the parents, I feel like the process should be followed through our legal/justice system to determine that. I am not considering this as 'additional punishment' for the parents, but rather our system of laws and justice dealing with the situation as we would any other to come to a legal conclusion. -
Anyone else get an e-mail from AZSFW out of the blue yesterday??? The headline was advertising a fund raising raffle for a Ford, but the link took me to their website. Of course I took the opportunity to poke around a little. Saw lots of old familiar names on the Board of Directors list. Also it looked like the org is being fairly active, at least from the looks of their newsletter postings & info. Curious if anyone here is an active member?? Also I'm curious about the 'organization' or 'affiliate' memberships. I noticed that MANY local AZ organizations are listed, and each gets a single vote on issues, etc.. (And each has a single person listed representing that org for AZSFW. Lots of familiar names there.....) Curious how those organizations are coordinating & communicating with their members when it comes to taking positions that AZSFW is pursuing. Anyway, just caught my attention..... Something different to think about during these crazy times. Oh, and BTW, I sent them a note to please take me off their spam/mailing list. S.

Years ago we had a couple of GREAT days at River (and Bunch) throwing medium-small brown trout Rapalas. 😉 Love the spring fishing opportunities in the White Mountains!!
