    Fly fishing

Love to fly fish, though it tapered off a bit while my kids were younger and learning (easier to start them on worms/spinning-lures....). Some buddies and I purchased all of the permits for Christmas Tree lake in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to spend the day floating & casting for those trout. Also greatly enjoy pulling streamers for smallmouth on the Black River on occasion. Good fun!

    AMC who's got it

BTW, pre-market currently shows AMC up 20%, but we'll see if the rally prediction holds until the end of the day.

    AMC who's got it

Yes, NYSE and NASDAQ are both closed on national holidays. These days though, there is ‘after hours’ trading, plus there are the international markets doing business. Depending on the particular company, stock can often be purchased on more than one exchange.

Who for bear rugs and full body mount?

Three bears is awesome!!! I have used Jim at Southwest Wildlife Taxidermy, and have been very happy! (Plus, he’s a site sponsor…)

    Gun show

Eh, I don’t really see it that way. ‘Price gouging’ is generally a term that applies when prices are jacked-up on goods/services that folks really NEED. I see the latest guns & ammo prices more in terms of a free market and capitalism at work. Demand far exceeding supply driving sky high prices. 😉

    AMC who's got it

For me, that MarketWatch article really doesn't say anything new. Simply reports what everyone (or at least anyone who is paying attention) already knows; That the Reddit army and 'retail' sales are in large part driving the run. My motivation for buying was simply that the stock was in the toilet and would likely come back to where it historically performed. Lots of 'COVID bargains' out there. LOL That being said, yup, if folks are on the fence then ANY/ALL info they can find is good prior to pulling the trigger.

    AMC who's got it

BTW, I am NOT saying it won't happen. Just saying that the company's financials and history don't support it in any way.

    AMC who's got it

LOL You mean the Reddit 'apes'?? The ones hyping stocks on Reddit??? Yes, I am familiar. Basically a bunch of dudes sharing info, opinions, and hyping investment decisions on Reddit..... So are you saying THAT is your source for predicting '5 digits'??? Ummm..... Good luck.

    AMC who's got it

Like a lot of folks, yes, I got into it several months ago when it was much lower. Been watching & holding. That being said, I'm genuinely curious, who is "they" that are saying '5 digit a share' is possible??? It has historically NEVER been even close to that high. That prediction makes zero sense based on their historical financial and sales performance. Assuming whoever 'they' is are basing that only on fever speculation and not the company's financials??? Your source??

    Fire on the res

Good info, Dan! I was pondering heading back up to the Black River next week. I'm guessing at this point, the reservation and national forest will likely VERY soon be under severe restrictions (and possibly closed) until we get some decent monsoon moisture. IF, we get it this year....

    Pinetop over Memorial Day

I won't be up there, but good luck, Doug! Hope the 'flatlanders' show-up, and that business is good!
  13. For sure, I suspect that application numbers would drop. Likely significantly for non-residents. There has been lots of debate on this topic over the years. I'm very curious who "seemed to be in charge" really was, and whether their info is accurate. Only asking because the word on not charging up front previously was attributed to the reason(s) mentioned before (laws/rules, as opposed to an administrative decision by the G&F...).
  14. Don't disagree with you there. I was specifically questioning how tag sales would be impacted.
  15. I'm not following your reasoning regarding tag sales dropping dramatically?? I'm thinking that whether they charge up front (and refund those not drawn) or not, that they still will basically allocate/sell the same number of tags each year.

    Black River Small Mouth

Sorry, not familiar with any spots that have a cable-basket crossing set-up. The road conditions that got you there sound like several access points I've encountered over the years, though! lol Sure wish I would have been exploring the Black river all those years ago!

Where my fellow Doge coin billionaires at?

This resonates with me!!! I've been a Sr. Executive in the IT business for many years now. As technology has evolved, it has been hard to keep sharp with the latest. Used to be good ol' mainframe, then Java. Now it's Golang, Kafka, Docker, Postgress, Kubernetes, Elastic, (all things messaging/streaming), and yes, Blockchain. I spent many hours in my office with a couple of young-sharp engineers a few years ago having them try to teach me the basics of Blockchain. Most of it went right over my head, but enough stuck that I felt comfortable investing in crypto a bit. At that time, two of the up & comers were Litecoin and Ethereum. I got into each of them just over 4 years ago and have sat on it ever since. It's been fun to watch the balance on my Coinbase account, but at the end of the day I STILL don't understand the technology at a deep enough level to really 'get' the value (other than simple demand driving the price...). Nice to see I have a good chunk of it, but I think I'm going to stick to with what I understand for my future investments. I'll leave the crypto to the youngsters.

    Rainbow and Lake Trout..

Somebody telling somebody else how and what to say in their post. Classic! 🙄😂
  22. Yep, usually it's just target shooting that is limited/banned during high-alert fire restrictions. Hunting still OK. (Unless/until they get to the point where they actually close access to the forest, which is a whole different level of restrictions.... )

Did anyone see rule changes about trailcams?

Umm..... Did they actually conclude on that topic? Have they made the decisions? (Thought it was still being debated.....) Obviously won't be published in the regulations until it is finalized....

    Bison reduction project

Tru-dat! Same here! My info is based on what I was told by a personal contact, who happens to be closely tied-into the project at the executive level. That, plus on the pod-cast that was published, the Park Service employee mentioned one bison per shooter. That being said, like you, I have not seen it officially noted in any of the published literature. Who knows..... Maybe it will be a game-time (pun) audible during the operation.
