Yep, that is the one and only mushroom that I have picked and eaten here in AZ. Very easy to identify and safe to eat, plus there are tons around.... A friend who initially showed me them is from Russia (immigrated 25+ years ago) and said they call them 'Oily Mushrooms' there, based on the film on the top. Obviously the same reason they are called Slippery Jacks, here.

Yeah, thanks, Andrew. I shared the sentiment last night (after she finished another 15 hour shift), and she appreciates it. She is a trooper and truly cares greatly for her patients and takes joy in each and every recovery story. Super happy that maximus' friend is on the right path.

Super glad to hear that your friend is improving!! Regarding dialysis being a primary means of treatment, my girlfriend is a dialysis nurse at Banner Desert (and floats to other locations…). She has been working her tail off, primarily in the ICU for well over a year now treating primarily Covid patients. Lots of folks don’t realize that Covid does NOT just affect the lungs. Seems like for the sickest of the sick, it’s the heart, kidneys, and other organs. Dialysis is the difference between life snd death for many of the very sick cases. Tough stuff! Again, glad to hear your friend is showing signs of improving!! 🙏🏼 S.

Ugh.... Just what I needed. Another M77 30.06 in the safe. LOL It sure is a beauty, though! My pleasure meeting and doing business with you. 👍

Add me to the list of folks who wouldn't have pulled over. Especially given it was a dead-end and you were apparently fairly close to the end. If/when they followed all the way in, I would have taken the opportunity at the dead-end to engage and ask them if they wanted to coordinate locations as to not step on each other's hunt. If at that time they ignored or didn't want to talk/coordinate, then I would have chalked it up to them just being them, and gone about my business with or without coordination. Public land, etc....

Great bucks! Also, once again, top-notch work by Draysen!! -
Jacks..... But yes, possibly a Lego is worse. 😂

Great stuff, as always, Lance!! Love it!!! As you know, Nick and I had a great time roaming that place last weekend. My favorite hunt of the year!

Way to go, Brandon!!! I had heard through Lance that it was quite a day. My son and I are heading-up there again on Thursday. Can't wait!! S. -
It's only possible if you (the user) make it possible. My Rights As An American is mistaken. The site absolutely does NOT share e-mail addresses or other contact info en-mass. . To make sure you are not sharing; Go to your profile and click edit. Look under 'contact methods', and make sure you have not put your e-mail address or other info in that area. As a side note, IF someone has made their email address available by listing it under the contact methods section, sending messages back and forth has nothing to do with whether it is visible or not. Simply click on anyone's profile any time, and if the contact info is there, you can see it. S.

Found a surprise in the depths of the freezer yesterday morning. A package of last year’s pronghorn chops (back strap). A little light seasoning, cooked med-rare. Tasty! 😉

The more I think of it, I still see no real ethical dilemma or choice either way here. Cool that you shot the baby., and to Bonecollector's point, you did the calf a favor by ending it's apparent suffering more quickly than would have otherwise. It was hurting, and it was a legal animal. On the other hand, had you passed on the baby and killed the cow, honestly for me that would have been just fine, too. That baby became injured somehow and nature & the way of things were running their course (with or without you). I see no moral/ethical obligation to shoot or not shoot the baby either way in this case. (But obviously this is TOTALLY my own opinion only, and we all know what they say about opinions..... As I said earlier, good show!)
-
Ah, I thought you were indicating it was an ethical concern that you shot the baby. Got it now....
-
I see NOTHING that makes me think of ethics at all. Good show!! Glad you were successful with the tag!! S.

Ya, from parts of the strip you get towers from the St. George and Kanab area. Likely pick-up some service from the tower coverage along I-15 & Vegas, too.

That's a real beauty!!! -
I just love that you said "mofo"!! Haven't heard or said it for a LONG time, and it made me chuckle for some reason! 😂
-
I think on the "rain" thread that someone said 18"..... That's a lot of acre feet!
-
More good news. Just got last fall's bison hide back from Southwest Wildlife. Will trim it up a tad, then it should make a good rug to go along with the skull on the wall.

NM pronghorn in 3 weeks!!!
-
True that!! I'll listen to those same old stories again and again, and eat it up! One of them lives in Heber, and we're trying to get him to chase his wife off for the weekend so we can 'camp' there.

Yeah, the irony is that I was the one running my mouth earlier in the week when a couple of them were mentioning the forecast..... I don't mind a thunderstorm or two, but sitting under a tarp with a 7 rowdy month old bird-dog in the pouring rain all weekend is another level. LOL
