Anyone else going Elk hunting next week??? My last tag was two years ago, and there was a BIG snowstorm on Thanksgiving night that effectively shut me out of my unit for the first three days. That's all the time I had to hunt, so it was basically a bust. Was fortunate to get another tag this year. I'm taking the entire hunt off work this time and will be living in my Alaknak for the week, starting Thanksgiving day. Though I wouldn't mind a little snow, I'm sort of hoping the weather will just stay as it has been for the duration of the hunt. One more scouting trip this weekend! Good luck, all! S.

You won’t have to print it. (Even now, you don’t have to print it.) If you have a duck stamp you can just keep it with you and show it if you need to. My guess is that will be electronic soon too, just like everything else. For sure tags will be electronic too, eventually. (New Mexico already is….)

I'm guessing it will be like it is currently. Likely a .pdf version of your license so you can either have it on your phone OR print it on paper.....

Had a little year-end portfolio review session with my advisor today and thought about this old thread when he asked me if I wanted to do anything with my AMC position. From my perspective, the forced submittal could be extremely easy. Go to a 100% electronic/online license and permit system. Then simply don't allocate a current permit until the survey for the prior year is complete. Truthfulness? A whole different story, but there is nothing you can do about that except assume some sort of margin of error. That being said, from a pure 'system/IT' perspective, it would be VERY simple. Whether that means G&F could build the platform and roll it out effectively could be something else, entirely. 😒

I wouldn't necessarily assume that will be the format going forward. The application for this draw was completely different than the standard one used in Spring/Fall. Different user-interface, etc.

I never knew my customer ID. I always used my social security number. For this draw application, the process seemed pretty clear to me. There was a link right on the page to retrieve your ID number if you didn’t have it.

+1 (or 2 😂)! I absolutely love the M77 rifles, and in fact have two M77's in 30.06 that I purchased from guys on this site over the past few years, plus one of my sons has one too! I shot a nice cow bison with one of them last year, plus a couple of pronghorn. Will be carrying it on my elk hunt later this week.

I simply have more of these things than I can use. Thinning out the closet a bit. Both are your average carrying cases (NOT the ‘TSA’ approved version.). Located in south Scottsdale area, for anyone who wants to stop by to grab them. S.

Have you been to NYC and traveled the subway?? My answer would be the same as before, basically no matter what time of day. The subway is absolutely NOT this big-scary thing full of thugs and muggers. Just as with any city, the vast majority of riders are simply average people going to and from in their daily lives. Edit: Like 5guys, I'll take the woods over the subway, too. Nothing beats walking out of or into the woods in the dark!

Sounds like the heel lift info you're getting is solid. Regarding potential hot-spots/blisters (regardless of boot brand), BIG +1 on Hector's comment for sock liners. I found Wrightsocks at REI a few years ago, and now will not hike with any other sock. The have the liner built in, and have been a game changer for me on hikes/hunts ever since. S.

I've lived there and still work & do business there fairly regularly (With the exception of a bit of 'covid' slowdown in business travel). Used the subway many, many times to get all over upper-lower Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, etc. Have and will take it after 8:00 without a weapon.
