Sounds like any of us who have spent a few hours chasing deer have had this happen. This same kind of thing happened to me while on a carp hunt in central Utah many years ago..... I was working my way through some scrub-oak, and I noticed a doe laying as flat as possible about 15 feet away. As I walked around the brush to get a better look at her, she 'belly crawled' around to keep the bush inbetween me and her. I had never seen that before (nor since...), and got quite a laugh out of it. S.

My personal experience last year was that I saw more cows than bulls. This of course was a good thing, because I had an archery cow tag. Not saying we didn't see lots of bulls (and a couple of real bruisers), but we definitely saw more cows. This was in unit 1. S.

Check-out these bucks that Amanda just posted. VERY nice.... http://www.coueswhitetail.com/san_carlos_h...an_carlos_8.htm Is that an ADA hat I see in the bottom pic? Good job on some fine bucks everyone!!! S.

Holy heck, what a mess...... Doesn't look like there will be any quick resolution to this. Good luck to all that hunt that area. S.

I like your confidence! There's been talk of a guy named Patrick Newman out of San Manuel for coues. I've seen some of his work, and it looks good. I can't help with the bear suggestion.... S. :-)

Nice elk hunterofcoues! I killed my first elk with a bow (cow) last September. Can't wait to get a bull tag someday.... Welcome to the site! S.

I run 2-3 times per week, year round. Might crank it up a month or so prior to a big hunt. Other than that, my life/work/kids/hobbies take up too much time to do much else. S.

Well, I guess I'm still kind of looking for my favorite rifle...... I started off with a 30-30 in high-school, then picked-up a .308 while in college. I've been using a .7MM BAR for the past 15 years or so. I like it OK, but really think I'd like to go with a bolt action. A buddy has an .280 M77 that I've always kind of liked. I might have to pick one of those up & try it for a few years. My dad also has a BDL .7MM that I like, and I think he's going to had it over to me pretty soon. You can never have too many favorite rifles, as far as I'm concerned. S.

Cool! I found the house I grew-up in, and a couple of my favorite quail spots as well... Thanks for sharing. S.

Thanks for coming to the meeting Lee. It was a pleasure to meet you as well. Also, thanks for 'spreading the word' about the ADA..... We REALLY want to represent as many deer hunters in the state as possible, but without folks joining the meetings & voicing their opinions, we can't be sure we are heading in the right direction. It truly helps to have new folks who are willing to through their $.02 in to keep things fresh. I hope that we'll see you (and maybe a few of your buddies...) at one or more of our projects this year! ;-) Thanks again! S.

Good deal TREESTANDMAN! Glad you have the shed to go with your pics. Nice of you to publicly recognize Josh on this as well. Kudos to you Josh, for showing this common courtesy & respect to your host. Too often, an offer to join someone in a 'secret hidey hole' is paid back with greed & dis-respect. We all have stories of sharing information, only to have the recipient either tell someone else about the spot, or just utilize it themselves with no regard for the original 'finder'. Nice example for the rest of us to follow for sure Josh..... S.

Nice sheds Amanda! I wish I had your job. S.

Interesting thread indeed; http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1243&hl=dan+caputo Looks like the majority of the feedback on the 6A proposal was positive earlier in the year. Well I guess I support opening it for coues in October, as long as they reduce the number of tags in December to compensate. S.

Hey Bret! You're my idol!!!!!! As I'm stuck here at the office (or worse yet, in NYC 1/2 the time....), you're out there getting it done! I can't wait to get out there after some of those cats!!!!!! Chris, I fully echo wetmule's response to your post. That is some seriously scary 'you know what'!!!!! I was wading & surf casting in Puerto Penasco last month, and got nailed by a sting ray. Hurt like heck, and I thought it was some pretty bad _ss stuff!! Now I know that was total child's play! YIKES!! I'm getting-up to the white mountains for a 4 days next weekend. I can hardly wait!!! S.

Didn't some guy come on here (or one of the other sites...) and ask for feedback on this topic several months ago? I swear I remember a WM coming on here and asking hunters what they thought of this potential move. Does anyone else remember that post? I forget what the overall sentiment was.... S.

Southen units are in sad, sad, shape..... North is where the coues are flourishing!! S.

CHD's post made me think of this. Some of these are very funny, and a couple are downright gut busting hilarious!!! DEPRIVED is one of my favorites... Enjoy! Pretty good CHD! I've got a Redneck Haikus somewhere that I'll try to find and post... S. :-) -
Congrats on the unit 23 birds Avion! Can't wait for the pics! We got into them in 23, but the birds we were into seemed to be sticking close to their hens.... We had a VERY sloppy ride out on Sunday morning as well. We'll be heading back up in a couple of weeks. S.

Awesome job on the turkey!!! My boy and I were out in unit 23 (shotguns, not bows...) on his first turkey hunt this past weekend. We didn't get one, but had quite an adventure none the less. I went on my first spring turkey hunt last year, and I agree that it is a blast!!!! Hopefully some day I'll be accomplished enough with stick & string to try one with my bow... S.

Nice pic Scott! My 10 year old and I are heading up to unit 23 this weekend to hunt. I can't wait!!! His first turkey hunt, and only my second..... We're heading-up to the same place my buddy took us to last year (he's coming along to call too), so hopefully we get into them. Hopefully I'll have a story & pics by next week. S.

Hey Amanda: I'll let you know ASAP on this. I may be going-in on a table with Woody, and I'm also not quite sure how many friends I have to account for. As mentioned; I'll let you know soon... S.

"Who was the foxy gal taking registrations?"???? Now THAT'S funny!! Let's just say that she's someone's grandma. I'll let Lance fill-in the rest if he wants to.... S.
