Yep, no worries on the Jr. Hunt. We had a great time. Had our fair chance at a couple of bucks that gave us the slip. Nobody can complain about that!!! Jr. Javelina next in late Jan, then turkeys in May. S.

I was just thinking about that this morning. I was bummed that this didn't happen 5 days ago.... maybe last weekend my son would have had better luck on his Jr. hunt down south. Good luck in December!!!!! S.

OUTSTANDING JEFF!!!!! Tell Riley a big congrats from Erik and myself!! (I'll show him this pic when I'm home tonight... ) I'm so glad that he got a buck down there! We were there this past weekend, but didn't get into the deer like we were on opening weekend. Saw some does, but no bucks. We had a GREAT time though. Thanks much for camping with us at the ADA Youth Camp. I agree that Gabe (WM for 36A) is an awesome guy who truly cares about kids and deer! I know he really was trying to get kids into areas with deer. It was a good time. Thanks as well to you and riley for your help around camp. Every bit goes along way. S.

Hey Allen: I'm glad that Travis got a shot at one this weekend. Erik and I could never quite get in position, but we were VERY close on Saturday evening (right Christian??? ). Good to bump into you out there.... it's always nice to see a familiar and friendly face out in the hills. Overall though, Erik and I had a great time this weekend. We're heading-out again this Saturday, so I'll hopefully post an udpate after that. S.

Outstanding pic! Thanks for sharing Brian ! Christian thanks much for the help this weekend! Erik and I saw another 15 does yesterday morning, but that 4x4 never showed himself. We had a great time this weekend though, and we definitely owe you a HUGE debt for helping us out. It was a pleasure to spend some time with you & your dad over the weekend. Hopefully you guys enjoyed the company at the youth camp. We're heading back down there this weekend to give that cholla patch another go. Hopefully we'll have a story by next Monday. S.

Just one more quick reminder of the ADA Junior Deer camp that is being held in 36A this weekend. The details can be found at this link: http://www.azdeer.org/unit_36_2006.htm Hope to see a few familiar folks & meet some new ones. I also hope that my son (and many other kids...) gets his first buck! S.

Good post Doug! Though I would 'prefer' to hunt the flats (due to my age... ), I generally hunt higher. I like to hunt the transition zones where you have oak & grass on the north facing slopes, and ocotillo, catclaw, and other /^%#@$ on the south sides. I'm a relative coues novice, but this is where I've had my most success in finding deer. As far as how I hunt it; Glass, glass, glass! Again, I'm a bit of a novice on the coues so I'm learning all the time. S. Here's a scouting picture from last September..... Look a little familiar Doug???

12A turkey tags for both me and the boy, and a Jr. javelina tag for him (I didn't put in for javelina.... one per household of those stinky things is enough! ) S.

YEA BABY!!! That's what I LOVE to see! My son got his first deer last seson on the Kiabab youth hunt (a doe...), and has the 36A Junior hunt this year. We are heading-out this weekend, and he can't wait to get a chance at a buck this year. BIG congrats & kudos to you & Redman Jr. Memories of a lifetime! S.

Outstanding Christian! You really did it by the book this season! Congrats! S.

I don't know what he scores, but I know it's a LOT! Outstanding buck! Loronas do it again..... S. PS: Did uncle PeeWee shoot anything this year? I understand he proved he was quite the 'dead eye' shot last year!

Hey Jim: Congrats on the new book! Looks like a good one.... Did Levi get a deer tag this year? My son Erik & a buddy's son got 36A junior tags this year. We'll be helping with the ADA Junior Camp again this year & of course hunting as well. Gabe will be camping with us also, so if you guys are out and about, be sure to stop by! Regards, Stan (Johnsen) -
