Hmm..... Maybe I should have shopped a bit more! I used to get VS with Cox, but Direct does not offer VS so I'm now without it. Suppose my lazy fanny doesn't necessarily need another channel/reason to veg on the sofa anyway! When I moved into my current place (an apartment...), I was told that Qwest was the internet/phone provider that had already been 'cabled' in to the complex. I went with that for my high-speed internet, and they are/were in bed with Direct TV so I went with that. Again, maybe I should have shopped Dish. Too late now though, as I'm obviosly locked in to my contract at this point. On a serious note, I'll definitely be watching my Direct bills closely! How could your bill suddenly go to $400? PPV? I would only assume my monthly bill would go up if I purchased PPV stuff?? S.

Yes, 608 blows!!! Lots of 'paid programming' there.... Interesting with the different views on Burnworth. I've seen his show, and his buddy's Africa show, and I tend to like them.... All a matter of taste I suppose. Also, I wasn't aware that he hunts high fences. I guess that I don't really hold that against anyone, as long as they admit it, are not ashamed, and don't try to pawn those 'trophies' off as fair chase. I agree that Pigman is also a good show. Arrow Affliction also is pretty decent IMO. S.

Thanks for posting!!! LOVE IT! Great memories.... I grew-up in Kearny, and my buds & I used to hit the upper Salt in spring time a few times earch year. Hooking into one of those big ol' flatheads is good fun!!!! S.

I saw the show this past weekend. Pretty good! Didn't see Allen there though, Lark.... S.

I get completely sick of the slanted press on each side of the political isle. Looks like the Canda Free Press could have done a bit of simple research and figure-out that it wasn't so much of an "unprecedented number of staffers....". Definitely hard to wade through all of the BS. As for how much she pays for her lunch snack, I really don't care.... S.

http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/201...eather0115.html Keep your fingers crossed bird hunters! Anyone who has been around AZ Gambels much knows that the numbers from year to year ABSOLUTELY depend on winter/spring rain! I was chasing birds in some of my favorite haunts over the holidays, and there were some nice little green shoots (sp) starting to show.... It doesn't take too many big storms to get those seeds going!!! Pray for 2-3 nice wet systems over the next few months folks, and we'll be chasing "75-150 bird" coveys next fall/winter!! It would be nice to see a double hatch this year!!! S. -
Amazing!!!! I'm out of the country working right now, and I am VERY home sick!!!!! Nothing like an Arizona winter storm!!! Gotta love the internet!! Thanks for the pics Scott! S.

Get ready Gambels hunters!!!!!

Bingo Scotty!!!!! Let's pray for more through the spring (all be it, maybe not ALL at once... )!!!! Ruby and I had to work a bit for these three over the Christmas break. Based on how excited to get these she was though, she'll likely have reason to go bonkers next fall/winter!!! No matter what happens in the spring, this week's storm will absolutely help! How about some early prayers to the 'Monsoon Gods' for the Mearns now!! S. -
Congrats on the buck Allen!!! (Also congrats on figuring-out how to post pictures!!) S.

You could be right on the anti's thing..... Might make a small difference, but again, I think the statistics show otherwise.... S. -
Application Anxiety
stanley replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I forget the exact numbers, but I seem to recall that the year after the pulled the plug on the on-line apps a few years ago, the number of applications did NOT take a significant dive. The vast majority of hunters are going to put in for a tag, whether it's on-line or not. Seriously, how many hunters to YOU know who would not put in, simply because it's not on-line?? Doesn't make much of a difference on draw odds..... S. -
Good luck to your dad Casey!!! It's amazing what they can do with hips/knees these days!!!!! S.

Best to you Doug!!!! S.

BTW: For those who have not used a javelina call, you might want to try it!!! When hunting with my youngest son a couple of months ago, we got into a herd of pigs. While my son was blasting away with the .308, there were a couple of 'piggie babys' crying/squealing away under a polo verde. The pigs in this herd were ABSOLUTELY drawn to the crys of the baby pigs! Even with the .308 hammering away, several of the adult pigs just didn't go far!! The sound that the little fellas were making sounded JUST like one of these calls!! S.

Application Anxiety

+ 100 I have made that comment several time here and people still have not figured out why I wish they would bring back the on-line application process (without bugs...)!!!! I love being able to fill-out applications online. Easy! I don't have to go the post office & don't have to go the Game & Fish office! Easy is good IMO!!! Assuming they could do it in a quaility fasion (I build computer systems for a living.... They absolutely COULD do it, if they had the right plan & people...), I would be all for it on-line applications again! S. PS: To answer your original question Sam; YES, I am just like you!! I get uptight about that kind of stuff!! Has to be just right! -
Cool for Catclaw to post this, and cool of Amanda for letting him..... Kent, from an outsider's perspective, I guess I don't see where you're coming from? Doesn't seem like his original post readsy like a 'fairytale' (unless it's been edited.... ). Dangle a carrot?? Seems like a strait forward job opening anouncement, IMO. Yes, it's too bad that an out of work construction worker might not qualify. Too bad for an out of work computer programmer to, and an out of work teacher, etc. etc... Catclaw, thanks for posting this. Kent, sincere good luck to you to. S.

SOOOO COOL!!!! Congrats to Jakob on his pig! That picture is the best! The arm around your boy makes it!!! Pure gold.... Sincere congrats to the boy! Thanks much for sharing!!! S.

Way to go Amanda!! You KNOW that I love that country down there!!! It's an amazing part of the state, IMO.... Awesome write-up & pics!! Now I'm feeling inspired and just might have to pick-up that left over HAM permit that a buddy of mine is trying to talk me into.... S.
