6A archery bull for me!!!!!! S.

Hit the nail on the head with this one. I enjoy all cuts of meat. Quality of the meat is what's important. Kobe beef and USDA Prime are tough to beat. Especially aged cuts. If I were to choose just one, my staple is the rib-eye. Seasoned exactly like Coues79 described, which is exactly how I prepared them last night. (think I'm gettin hungry again) Bingo!! Salt and fresh pepper!!! Med-rare... Perfect!!! YUM!!!! Also, BowNut brought-up the blue cheese.... For me, maybe not so much directly on my steak but I LOVE a nice fresh salad on the side smothered in fresh blue cheese dressing (home-made...)! Of course it never hurts if they're on the same plate so the meat gets mixed just a bit with some of the dressing!! S.

Never heard of that before!! Pretty cool!!!! I know that there are a few 36A 'regulars' who browse here, so maybe someone with chime-in.... S.

Now THAT'S funny Amanda!!!! S.

Sure you have the right number???? S.

I usually don't get too caught-up in the 'tag drawing' drama, but today I'm sitting here at work and my cell phone rings. I look down at it and the number on the caller ID is 602-942-3000!!!! Now you KNOW that I have that number memorised!! I answer the call fully expecting someone to congratulate me on drawing the toughest tag in the state (because why in the heck else would they be calling me during 'draw week'??)!! Instead of anything to do with the draw however, it was simply someone from their office trying to verifiy my name, etc. from a volunteer sheet I filled-out at a ranch clean-up a few months ago!! Nothing to do with the draw what so ever!!! After I clarified the info he wanted, I asked if he could take a peek in the back room to see how the draw was coming. He didn't seem too amused though.... Must have been a busy day! So I continue to wait like the rest.... S.

OK. I not only hope you folks rot in that place where it's beyond unbearably hot 24/365 for your bald-faced lies, but I also expect to be reimbursed for my long-distance phone call to the Game and Fish Department's headquarters. Speaking of that place that's even hotter than Yuma or Gila Bend in August, did you hear that its warden, an especially ugly guy with horns and a long tail, made it a point to check his inmates regularly to make certain each suffered to the extent that he/she should? When he reached a chubby fellow with white hair who had been condemned to shovel coal non-stop into a furnace for all eternity, he decided to tighten the screws on this particular resident even more. "Hey Teddy. Did you hear that your Senate seat went to a ... Republican?" he asked before poking the inmate in the rump with his pitchfork and walking away, grinning cruelly. Bill Quimby LOL to all of that Bill!!!! VERY funny!!! Can't believe you actually called though! As soon as I saw Lark's report I figured I would just wait patiently for the 'official word' (or at least someone more believable than him!!! )!!! S.

Wow! Screamer deal in the bargain cave! Suppose ought to take a stroll through there before I make the final purchase! S.

Thanks for the tips Doug! The Sheepherder seems like a reasonably priced alternative to the standard canvas 'wall tent'. I think for the weight, and because of the verstility of the vestibule attachement on the Alaknak, that I'll stick with that one though.... ehunt, we'll be breaking ours in on the turkey hunt to! Good luck!!! S.

As long as their on one of the 'Junior' turkey hunts, then they can hunt OTC! I think it's awesome for the kids!! I'll have at least two of mine out there! S. This is cut & pasted from page 11 of the spring regulations. Tag Required Hunt Permit-tag obtained only through application and draw process as prescribed in R12-4-104 and R12-4-114. EXCEPT for Juniors-Only Nonpermit-tag Turkey hunts, a Juniors-Only Turkey Nonpermit-tag must be obtained from a license dealer as prescribed in R12-4-114.

Of course they would collect interest! That's the way it works when you have cash in your account..... How much interest they earn on the float, etc. would be a product of their internal finance/accounting practices. Now whether it would be a good enough incentive to purposely delay the process??? Uh.... I don't think so. My guess is that it's just good ol' government process/bureaucracy hard at work, as opposed to any malice. My $.02...... S.

I'm going to try my best to get there this weekend!!! Busy baseball & school fair for part of Saturday, but I'm going to try! It's been said so many times; For those who have not been to one of these ranch clean-ups, they are a GREAT way to make a real posative impact on deer habitat, while at the same time meeting some great folks! As many people as possible are needed to help!! S.

VERY cool Amanda!!! Thanks a bunch for posting the pics! I grew-up on the north side of 37B, and I MUST get out to one of those projects someday!! I'm hoping to join the 36 Ranch clean-up this weekend if possible though.... Good work to all who were there!!!!! S.

Great pics Doug! You of course, know that I spend a week in the Navajo Lake area each year. We might move over to Boulder Mountain for this year's rendevoux..... We'll see.... Either way, thanks for the great pics of that amazing country!! S.

I know this is a bit of a hot topic around here, so I thought I would post this link. I wonder how long the 'paid leave' will last.... I also am curious of exactly what details led to the decision?? Thick plot..... http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/201...guar-death.html S.

That cholla can be NASTY!! The deer in 36A love to eat the stuff though! I've seen plenty of deer down there with cholla on & around their nose/mouth. I would have to be VERY hungry to eat a cholla!!! OUCH!! S.

Thanks for lightening it up a bit around here!!!! S.

So I recently moved, and Cox Cable does not service my new area. Due to that, I was 'forced' to finally make the switch to satelite. I went with Direct TV, and as a result have been watching plenty of the Outdoor Channel, The Sportsman Channel, etc.. As with most sports channels (Versus for instance, which I no longer get...) there are some pretty decent programs, and some VERY lame ones!! One guy who captured my attention is Jim Burnworth (Western Extreme & Adventures Abroad). Seems like a pretty cool guy with a good head on his shoulders. Seems like a guy I would like to hunt with. My least favorite shows are the ones where it's basically an infomercial for hunting property & land leases! There was also a show shot in Canada, where they dubbed the voices over the actual hunting footage. Not like a narration, but they actually were trying to mimick the voices in the field, etc. VERY funny, but not entertaining at all!! Anyone have any MOST and LEAST favorite hunting shows/hosts??? Just killing time until turkey season.... S.

I've added a bit sugar to my recipe (which is similar to yours...) in the past, and it adds a nice flavor! Never tried cinnamon though.... Might have to do that! Interesting that you use Green Chiles, as opposed to the standard jalepenos that most use! I've not done that before. I have a hard time finding green chiles that are hot enough for me. Even when they are labeled as 'hot', they never quite give me the kick that I'm looking for (like jalepenos do). I'm constantly looking for HOT ones for cooking with pork/beef (Green Chile), but often get frustrated with the supply. Can't wait until September!!! I'll be looking for some nice HOT Hatch chiles! Also, whether using Anaheims or Jalepenos, I agree that the MUST be roasted!!!! Roasted chiles/peppers are MUCH better IMO!! S.

Cool!!!!!! Great shot and a great video!!!! My, how things have changed! Isn't the 'digital age' awesome?!?! Great to be able to capture moments like these on 'film' to keep forever!! S.
