    Venison Masala

 Wow Hector! Can't believe you went through the trouble of all the pics! You should create/produce a cooking show!! That dish looks amazing! Inspiring me to get my butt into the kitchen!!! That pic of the raw spices in my hotel room brings back some memories! Notice the liter of local beer too! King Fisher is the local lager. Similar to Heiniken and WAY cheaper! I'll likely be there again in a month or two, and I'll hit the same spice markets as always! Glad to see you're working your magic with the fresh masalas & spice in the 'off season' my friend! S.

    Kaibab Mountain Lion Fever!

AWESOME!!!!! Did you guys put dogs on it, or was it pure 'right place, right time'???? (sorry, can't launch the video from my work network.....) I went on my first lion chase last month, and I can't wait to go again!! So cool, and the pic of that look on her face right after the shot is priceless!!!! Thanks for sharing! S.
  5. hey i member this trailer haha was out lookin for some pigs for my buddy. i thought it looked good for a pop out trailer FYI for anyone looking for a pop-up. This looks like a VERY good deal to me! I sold a 1990 pop-up for not much less than this a year ago, and this one seems in much better shape then the one I got rid of. S.

    Poll: For or Against

This response is so hilarious, that I KNOW you must be joking! The only reason sportsmen "have no voice" is because they (WE) aren't using it!!! A few do, but most don't! Including those on this site. Sad, but true...... This site represents many folks that are HARD CORE hunters, yet the majority on this site never show up to game comission meetings or get involved in the few clubs/organizations that are actually trying to represent our love. Some show-up at banquets/auctions, but that is about as far as most take it. The department is not 'arbitrarily' banning hunting, and I haven't really noticed how they are making it more difficult. As far as making it more expensive, uhhh....... Have you looked at the price of ANYTHING lately? Gas, for instance? How do you think the department pays for gas for their trucks? Why would hunting tags/permits be exempt from inflation? Again, I know you must be joking.... S.

    Poll: For or Against

Not all kids like to hunt Touche'! Should have qualified that statement, I suppose..... S.

    Poll: For or Against

In this poll, I was one of the 'yes' votes. The reason was because I didn't have a choice to break down the nuances of baits (salt, corn, water, donuts, etc..........). In AZ, we can't hunt bears over barrels of donuts & other trash, so I suppose we already have a ban on baiting that not many (at least not many on this site....) have complained about. So if you think about it, we already have a ban on baiting. It just didn't hit the soft spot that we have on this site..... I don't want to see bears baited with donuts & old cooking grease. The argument of 'un-enforceble laws' doesn't hold water IMO. If that were the case, then there would be NO laws at all! There are not enough DPS officers to catch all speeders, and not enough other cops to catch all of the law-breakers out there for SO many laws already, but that doesn't mean they are not good laws. My personal opinion, I suppose. S. PS: I think there should be a law that says any hunter with a child should take them hunting as often as they can! And I mean that!

Can you find your sticker in this video??

That is a great video Amanda!!! It's clear that hunting season is over and you have extra time on your hands!!! Through your hard work and dedication, you've built a great site/community here. The loyalty doesn't come cheap or easy! It speaks volumes..... You should be VERY proud! S.

    Border Hunting

Good morning Biker, and welcome to the site! You will get exactly what you asked for on this topic; OPINIONS! And we all know what those are like.... Here is mine: I have hunted in the 36 units for many years now. I'm not a '36 local', so I'm not down there every weekend, but I have spent a bit of time there over the years with friends and my kids. There is no doubt that the illegal border crossers (whether it is 'working immigrants' or smugglers/coyotes have had an impact there. That being said, I have camped with large groups of people, and I have camped/hunted with just myself & my kids, and I have camped/hunted by myself on occasion. I have NEVER had a problem. Have I seen trash left by illegals? Yes! Have I seen illegals? Yes! Have I seen LOT'S of Border Patrol agents? Yes! Have I ever had a 'problem' down there? NO! What happened to Robert Krentz was truly a tragedy! There have also been many accounts of Border Patrol and other agencies having run-ins with illegal’s, smugglers, and coyotes. Their job is to look for and confront these people. The fact is that the cases of recreational hunters having problems/run-ins with trouble are VERY rare. Sure, there are incidents, but given the number of hunting tags given out down there and the number of illegal’s, the % rate of actual 'incidents' is extremely low. IMO, the illegal crossers (whether farmers/workers or smugglers) want NOTHING to do with an American hunter packing a gun! In general they run, hide, and basically do anything they can to not have a confrontation. Bottom line is, I have never felt un-safe hunting down there. I would NEVER take my kids there if I felt it was un-safe. Again, many on this site may disagree with me, but you asked for an opinion and that's mine. Good luck to you! S.

  16. Great pics Amanda!!!!! The weekend was a blast! Yes Ilene, it was really cool to watch Laura & the guys stalk in on those pigs from 3/4 mile away! Fun to be a part of the stalk, without really being a part of the stalk! Bill, TJ, Ilene, Peg, John, Laura, Laurie, Crystie, Amanda, Tracy, Kathy, Sundevil & wife(forgot first names.... ), Tyler, Mark, Gabe, Steve, Craig, etc..... List goes on & on.... too many to recall, I'm afraid! So nice spending time with old friends and making new ones! Enjoyed helping the hunters and I ALWAYS enjoy sleeping under the stars by the fire! The food also rocked!!!!! No pictures from me, because unfortunately I lost my camera on the last morning of the hunt! I'm sure it's somewhere in the deep/brushy ravine that Laurie and I were stalking pigs in! Was time for a new one anyway, I suppose. Until next time friends! S. PS Amanda: Yes you did get a picture of Girls Shoot Better!!! That's her and her mom, Chrystie, sitting at the table enjoying lunch!! Right below the pic of the chefs!

    Bri gets her 1st javelina

VERY AWESOME!!!! Congrats to Bri!! BTW, I like the 'auto loaders' for the kids. Though for safety reasons, many folks shy away from them, but with proper supervision it should not matter! The reason I like them for the little ones is the 'kick' factor seems to be less, as the action absorbs a fairly good portion of the shock. Good for her! S.
