Great pics! Thanks for sharing...... Congrats on your 1st Place ribbon!! S. -
200-350# for most? Maybe 500#? Just guesses..... Suppose an outfitter or butcher might chime in. S.

I always figured it was just a funny 'tongue in cheek' expression used by hard-core coues fanatics in reference to the muleys!! What does it mean? Well, what is a Carp usually associated with when fishing? A big old nasty thing, that you would generally not want to catch! All in good fun, for sure! S.

BIG congrats on that tag!!!!! Good luck! S. -
My two youngest kids got early Junior permits in 36A (any antlered deer)! It's going to be hot, but could be a fun hunt. Only 50 tags issued, so crowds should not be an issue. October Whitetail , three weeks later for their older brother and I! Good luck to all! S.

Hope they get a handle on it soon!!! Kind of a drag having a fire with my name!! (Although I understand it was named for the location.... ) S. -

+1 ragu!!! That being said, I've fished the Black River once a year for the past several........ I'm looking forward to a trip this summer's trip too! What do folks think the Wallow fire impact will be though? I'm thinking that once the summer rain starts, that the Black might be in for a muddy, ash filled summer! Hopefully the fish can stay tough and ride it out. S.

Priceless!!!! Lovely pics! Thanks for sharing! S.

Thanks Jackshoe! Yes, Ruby is a great dog. The kids absolutely adore her, and vise-versa! She is a real sweetie with the kids/family, and a tireless hunter/camper too! S.

Be sure to do a search on 'tents' here in the forums! I think there are several threads that have debated the ups/downs of the various tents! I've got the Cabela's 12x12 Alaknak. I also have the Camo-cot bunk set-up and can easily sleep 4 comfortably. A great family/hunting tent, IMO. I also have the vestibule, which adds LOTS of covered storage and/or sitting space if needed. Some folks prefer canvas over the poly material that the Alaknak constructed with..... http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Ultimate-Alaknak8482-Tent/732548.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dalaknak%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=alaknak&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products Good luck! Congrats on the tag JACK! Good luck, no matter which unit/hunt it ends-up being! I got drawn for a general statewide archery deer tag. A couple of old college buddies and I will be meeting-up for a week of camping/fishing/archery hunting late this summer! We'll likely focus in some of our favorite spots down in the Southern part of the state. Can't wait!! S.

I think you nailed it! Looks like it would be great in decent weather. I'll stick to my Alaknak for potential wind/rain though.... Could be a great options for families looking for lots of sleeping-bag space for summer camp-outs! S.

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world...
stanley replied to TwoGuns's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I'm definitely no law expert either, but my opinion is that I don't really see where his constitutional rights were violated. He had a run-in with a cop who was an A-hole and/or was apparently having a very bad day. He didn't cooperate, so he was detained. After the cop talked to his supervisor, they decided that they couldn't charge him. They learned that they had to let him go, and they did just that. Now some DA has a bug up his butt, so he or she is investigating and maybe filing new charges. So what..... Constitutional rights being violated? Just like the Cop, it seems like this guy had a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Seems like if the cop would have been 'nicer', and he would have 'complied', that this thing would never have made it to print. Still would like to hear the Youtube, as until then, the credibility of this story is pure urban legend, IMO..... I would agree with you on one thing Casey, you are not a law expert (and as admitted, nor am I) Respectfully, S. -

I would like to hear the Youtube audio, I suppose. Seems like the cop was definitely being a jerk and was on edge....... On the other hand, it also seems like if he simply complied with the order to get on his knees and did what the cop said, that he would have had a chance to eventually show is licenses. All second hand hear-say until we hear the Youtube clip though. Set-up for life with a competent attorney Casey? Huh? Suppose maybe if he wants to live in van by the river for life, else my guess is that he wouldn't win that much. S. -
Wow!!!! That looks like an awesome trip!!!!!! Great pics as always. Thanks for sharing! S.

Bummer for sure...... So many AZ natives (myself included.....) and/or long time residents have great memories there. Molly Butler, fishing in the Little Colorado, Mt. Baldy wilderness...... All great memories from White Mountain camping/fishing trips as a kid! Ditto Lark! Glad no one was hurt! S.
