Carlos: It was a true pleasure sharing a camp with you and your crew! I've got some more pics/words from the weekend that I'll post tonight or tomorrow morning. Bummer that her antlers got chewed-up by the dog! So you know though, I shot a forkie on a hunt in Utah 12 years or so ago. The antlers were just a bit larger than your daughter's buck, but that's mainly because they were 'hard horned'...... I think they're hanging on a nail in the garage at the ex's house. Might be a good fit for what you're looking for! More later...... S.

Congrats to your kids on the tag! I'll be camping/hunting with my two kids (and a friend, and his two kids). Not sure what areas you've got scoped-out, but we'll be camping fairly close to Arivaca, and generally hunting that side of the unit. Call me or txt at and we can chat about exactly where we'll be camped/hunting. You are absolutely welcome to join our camp if it looks like it will work logisically for you..... S.

I'll DEFINITELY keep an eye out for any chance to meet/listen to your group LAR DOG! I'm an amature picker, and always take my 6 String on our camping/hunting trips. Can't read music, but not too bad on chords...... S.

I know several folks are heading-out on Junior deer hunts this weekend! My two youngest and a couple of friends have 36A tags, and I can't wait! Looking at the weather, it appears as though it will be cooling down. Perfect timing for this weekend's VERY early hunt! I was figuring that we would be glassing in 90+ degree temps, but the forecast is now for cooler temps..... I'm optimistic that the cooler weather may help the deer stay active a bit later in the day (as compared to 'normal temps' this time of year...). On the other hand, you never really know what a big change in the weather either way will do. So what do all of you experts think? Good luck to everyone who is going-out with the kids this weekend!
