Great Ending to Waterfowl Season
stanley replied to Condor's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Wow! That's cool! I've never goose hunted, but it seems like it would be fun! Congratulations on a great day of hunting, and thanks for sharing with the site! S. -
Elkaddict has a good point. Maybe talk to a dealer? Take them into a dealer, and maybe they have a contact at Swarvski or some kind of a 'back door' into their Swaro's customer service department? Worth a try, maybe! Sincerely, good luck! S.

Bummer about the dropped 15s. Did you read the warranty? I believe it is lifetime for 'defects in workmanship, quality, etc...'. I think that the warranty specifically states that it is void if the damage or need for repair is the result of unauthorized repairs, accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, etc.... Seems like dropped binoculars would fall under the 'accident' category. Still seems like they have a pretty good warranty to me. Looks like you're looking for more of an 'insurance policy', than a warranty. Not sure if any bino company would offer that. Sometimes retail outlets offer that type of thing, but not sure if you will find that from a bino builder. Good luck getting them fixed though. They are obviously great binoculars, and I think it would be worth paying for the repairs. S.

I think that they CAN be that strong. I think they're more like 'cables' as opposed to 'wires'..... They have to be very strong because of the distance between towers and such, I think. Funky picture, for sure! Internet legend maybe, as the chances have to be WAY long for this to actually happen. But who knows????? S.

VERY cool Pine Donkey! I grew-up in Kearny, and our house was on the edge of town by Steamboat Wash. We would get lots of javelina and coyotes in our yard and driveway. Not too many deer it seemed, though we always knew they were there. This post reminds me of growing-up in 'small town' Southern AZ. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing wth the site! S.

Parker's Javelina Hunt
stanley replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
VERY, VERY, VERY awesome!!!!!!!!! There is absolutely NOTHING like hunting with the kids! Sincere congratulations to Parker!! Thanks much for sharing with the site!! S. -
I removed it. Someone made the comment about dealing with things via 'IM', and I agree in this case. This site is pretty cool. I've been here a long time, and really love the information/fodder is shared. Amanda is out of town this weekend, and I made the decision to remove the post based on a couple of PM's/requests. I would suggest following-up via PM with the specific individual if there are still big problems here, but I think all of the constructive debate ran it's course on the thread. S. PS: Lance, it had nothing to do with anyone's reputation. Thinking your comment might have been tongue in cheek? Maybe not, though.... Truly, I'm a hack that has absolutely NO dog in this fight or sight. Just someone who helps Amanda administer and has to make a judgement call on occasion. Again, I think the thread just kind of ran it's course.....

VERY awesome!!! Great pics, and I really like the look of those antlers. I've never been much for scoring, but he is a dandy! Love the mass! Thanks for sharing with the site! S.

Yea, antlers grow funny sometimes..... That's for sure, Bill! That little 3 point in the pic was shot down in 36A. The area of the unit we were in is particularly known for whitetails and muleys running around the same hiding places. I talked to Jim Heffelfinger (Mr. Mule Deer for AZ G&F) when I ran into him a couple of weeks later at the Youth Camp down there. He confirmed that there is cross breeding that goes on for sure. We didn't have much time to chat about it. I would be curious to know what genes dominate and which off-spring would take on what traits as a result. Jim cruises these boards on occasion, so maybe he'll jump-in. S.

Nice comic relief on a friday, Slim! All were good, but the last one was great! S.

I agree Pixman, very nice pictures! Hey Slim! Check-out the rack on this little 3x3 muley that my son shot last October. He had a muley tag, and when we walked up to it after he downed it I had a quick moment of panic when I got a close-up of the rack. Quick check of the tail confirmed he killed the correct species, but based on the deer's left side he clearly has some whitetail in him. It has the typical 'single beam' of a whitetail. S.

Here's a write-up on the 60 Minutes story I saw a while back. CRAZY!! http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/10/09/60minutes/main5374843.shtml cbryant11, the story says they can reach speeds of 140-150 MPH! In the TV story I saw, it mentioned the fast speeds. I'm no physicist, but I'm guessing those speeds would be necessary to get the lift and control you would need out of the 'flying squirrel' suit! Nutty stuff!! S.

Holy mother!!!! Gack!! Saw a story on one of those 'magazine' shows (I think it was 60 minutes....) about a group of guys that do that. Amazing stuff! Takes HUGE ones to even think seriously about trying it. Pretty cool though! S.

I really DO hope that John or another representative comes on and gives an 'official' response in regards to the ADA board's stance on this topic. The annual ADA fund raising banquet is next month, and something like this might affect the overall attendance. That would be a shame because I know that historically, the ADA has done some pretty good things with the money raised through the banquet (water catchments, studies, youth camps, etc...). I think it would be a good idea for an official comment so those that might attend the banquet know what the club's official stance is. Maybe an official comment on the ADA website, if not here?? I see that the banquet is listed on the website, so I'm assuming it's being kept up to date. An official comment on this topic could maybe get some credibility for the club. S.
