i work wildland fire and find sheds all the time during mop-up cuz all the vegetation has burned away. ill also check prescibed fire areas

i really like the spot and stalk stuff, but sitting water works great too. The thing ive notice when sitting water is that you get what comes in, nothing more. When you spot and stalk you have the option of looking over vast amounts of country, finding quite a few bucks, then analyzing what you want. i believe you find more trophy quality bucks w/ spot and stalk

the rut is frustrating, a lot of the decent bucks ive seen have like 30 does with them, i tend to glass them up, close distance and skirt the herd all day till light runs out, wind shifts and i blow it, or i get a shot off. if i stay with them maybe he'll make a mistake and push them towards me or he'll swing by me
