i put the whole mix on a bogen tripod with a really sturdy bogen head so stability isnt a prob, the weight isnt great tho but this was just a rought draft, on my second go im gonna go with aluminum. (i originally wanted alum but the metal shop was closed when i got off work) i used bogen quick disconnect mounts and plates so if i wanted to just mount my binos or scope i could, or the plate assembly. i also used a little slik ball head on the spotting scope setup so if i ever knock'em outta alignment i can quickly get them goin again. if you got any more questions shoot me a line. some of the QR mount i found, if you look a lil bit you prob could findem cheaper http://www.amazon.com/Bogen-Manfrotto-Comp...2095562-4553252

look into snug rug cases too, ive gotem for spotting scopes, and both sets of my binos

my old man has taken his contender in 7mm tcu to wyoming a coupla times and gave the antelope a heck of a work out at extended ranges

lol ye$ it does involve money, but as in most cases you get what you pay for

turrets allow you to finger adjust your windage and elevation on the fly from a cut or ballistics chart to change your point of impact to be dead on at various distances and wind speeds. they allow you to zero your rifle at whatever distance and adjust to be able to hold dead on however far you intend to shoot, no guessing on hold over. keep in mind to properly use a tactical scope like listed above you need a range finder, a ballistics chart for your rifle and load, and an angle finder. im sure the knoledgable people on here can describe it better but i think thats the basics or turret use

with the experimenting ive done with the ziess, nikons, burris ect the leupold mark 4 is the only one that has consistanly held zero after turret use, i know the nightforce will also. i may have had lemons in these other brands and this is just my opinion
