    "Pat" Madden Nominated

I’ll preface by saying that I do not know him. So if I was a heck of a plumber and a standup guy ...am I qualified to make wildlife decisions? He put in 30+ years as a cop, and then worked for the Dept. of gaming; I guess I too fail to see how he is qualified. Does it irk anyone that the folks making wildlife management decisions (commission) are appointed, not elected? Are they indeed qualified?

    What's next G&F??

It's incredibly frustrating to see others so willing to give away anything, exercised or not. Usually when lost it is extremely hard to get anything back. I does not matter if it is “your way”, it matters that you lost the option. I don’t dog hunt or trap, but I will fight tooth and nail to protect my/your ability to do such. This does not include the legislative momentum that folks attain by a small victory, a “foot hold” so to speak. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. How do you gain supreme power over land and wildlife? Same method I guess. I hate the idea that “the powers that be” can and will impose what they wish and when with no formal responsibility or data. Do not forget that the commission is not elected, but appointed, and for an agenda driven reason. I am speechless at the 5-0 ruling. I am freaked out that the letters written and the speakers against it had no effect. Really... a 5-0 ruling??? I feel like an idiot, I have no idea if a suit could be brought forth against the AZGFD asking for data. The Fed Gov’t gets sued all the time for not keeping data/poor management decisions with the people’s assets. I do not have an answer, I am extremely fearful that we have no impact on government and others that don’t exercise their freedoms are willing to help legislate us to oblivion. Taking no stand is the same as helping. Dark Days folks, Elpepe25

    Spot/Stalk

I have found that spot and stalk is a 20:1 proposition. 1 outta every 20 stalks you get an opportunity. Stay after them. The reason folks say it's the most rewarding way to hunt is because it’s the most dang frustrating way to hunt and when it pays off it's awesome. 2 schools of thought on bedding vs. moving/feeding animals. -If they're bedded at least they're not moving around but all they have to do for entertainment is find you stalking them. -If they are feeding they are less aware but only god knows where they are going, and they can be hard to keep up with. You cannot beat the wind with any product made. At least have it slightly favoring. If at all possible put something solid (i.e. Ridges, bumps, rocks, thick trees) between you and the animal. I know this is all pretty obvious, but spot and stalk hunting will either throw you into the arms of the lord, or, make you swear that there is no god. Best of luck.

    Info on PSE Citation II?

It’s probably a fair trade value wise, however, you'd be better off getting something newer that fits you and can still find parts for. Bowhunting is hard enough, no need to be handicapped by dinosaur equipment unless that is the challenge you choose to pursue. Bows usually are not one size fits all and all the same style wise. Differing feels, draw lengths, draw weight etc. The odds of someone else’s specs lining up w/ yours exactly are rare.

WTB A Pistol for the Little Lady

I Purchased the S&W body guard revolver for my wife. DA revolvers are idiot proof under stress, uterly unjammable. IF it does fail to fire, pull the trigger again. Unlike autos it can be fired inside a purse/jacket pocket as well as muzzle contact if needed. It has very small diameter grips that are super comfy and allow full purchase with smaller hands. Revolvers are more proven than even the 1911, I know... I know blasphemy. However I liked hers so much I ended up getting a J-frame for myself. By far the most comforable pistol ive carried. The more comfortable it is, the more likely to carry. The more likley to carry the more likley to have it when you need it.

    Bow advice

the handiest pieces of equipment to have when testing bows is a blindfold and a large bale target. No hype, no bs, just feel.

    Bow advice

To each their own, I love bull basin in flag and Tucson. Put your hands on every bow you can and shoot them if the shops will let you. Regardless of brand find one that is comfortable. I wouldn’t even worry about the IBO speed. Consider the lightly used market on archerytalk.com as well. A lot of people feel they need the newest version and there are good deals to be had. As far as versatility goes, if you stay between 5.5 and 7.0 grains of arrow weight per pound of draw weight with moderate speed and a quality broadhead, you can shoot anything on the continent with reliable results. Any questions feel free to PM me

    Youth shotgun?

You'll be extremely hard pressed to find a "turkey load" for the 28ga, its continued existence is due to the sub gauge classes of skeet, and therefore skeet loads. Semi-autos do recoil less. If it’s worth the money, I cannot say. If you do go that route the “gas” semi-autos have more recoil reduction than “inertia-recoil” guns. Good options in the gas gun market include the Berettas, Rem 1100’s and 11-87’s. I believe there is a 20ga 1100 for sale in the classifieds here. The most common “starter” guns in Scholastic Clays are 1100’s and 11-87’s for their reliability and soft shooting. They are unbeatable in the dove fields as well. Good luck

    Youth shotgun?

ive had mine for 17+ years, still schucking like a champ and still one of my favorites to shoot. You can find good deals on chokes, and with some of the newer shell options (hevi-shot) a 20ga will knock the stew out of a turkey
