We got all the way down to 34A all the way back to the camping spot 1 hour on the interstate and about 1.5 hours on dirt, went to get a frosty beverage and there were no ice chests . All the food, drinks, everything. I was 18 my brother was 14 and we had never heard our dad use foul language. I mean really foul language, he is a fairly soft spoken professional man, he frequently used the staples like S*!T, A$& H*!E etc.. But he let go with a string of obsenities that would make the dice man blush . The funniest thing about it was pronunciation of the words, it is not some thing I can really do justice in writing, you really had to witness it. And the lucky few of us that were there to hear it, it will go down as one of the funniest moments in our family hunting trips . And if you know our family that says a whole lot. Needless to say, he dropped eveything out of the truck and proceeded to make the nearly 5 hour round trip to get the icechests in about 3.5 hours.

I just got back from a Dream Hunt!!!
YOUNGGUNZ replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Puh Huh! i was holding my breath the whole time. Thanks for that, got me all amp'd up for next Friday baby. -
Yet to have one of my trail cams call me & say, "just spotted a 400 in. bull, get over here!" Of course, the way technology goes if those aren't on the market yet, they probably will be soon. Seems to me like this is comparing apples to oranges. Congrats to the hunter, it's a beautiful trophy. Matt S. For the record I use radios and would use cameras if I had the money for them and if I thought that they would still be there when I came back for them. With the time and date stamp on all pics you can very easily pattern that 400 " bull with zero effort. I am not discrediting the hunter by any means, congrats on a true trophy, I am just trying to understand why one method is considered "OK" and one isn't.
-
I get it, but the cameras tell you where and when the animal shows up to the water, salt etc... I kind of see that as the same technological advantage as the radios. Where do we stop with getting the upper hand on the animals? Faster bows, range finders, better optics, the bottom line is the hunter still has to make the stalk and the perfect shot. I think we are splitting hairs here. Am I wrong in thinking that? Please understand that i am not trying to start an argument, i am trying to find where hte lines are drawn or are ther lines at all. Is it Leagal Vs. Illeagal and "ethics" are to be defined by the individual?
-
I do not want to get into a huge "Ethical / Unethical" debate, but can someone help differentiate the use of radios compared to using trail cameras . I am seeing alot of trash talking about radios and alot of praising the use of trail cams. Help me understand the difference please .

Alright guys, just let me know what type of beverage should have for you guys? I did not realize that there were such refined tastes on this forum. I can’t say enough about Game Haulers hospitality, just a stand up guy and I as well as my brother (best time of year) are proud to be members with guys like him. Buy the way; we had so many bulls on that mountain I don’t know what to do or which one to go after. We saw quite a few rag horn five by’s and two bruisers. We had a hard time sleeping with all the bugling going on, no joke; they were bugling seventeen hours a day. They would only be quite from 0900 to 1600, and then they would fire back up. My buddy sat on a tank late Saturday and had a 340–350 class bull water and wallow in it for about 6 minutes, I only got a glimpse of him as he was headed through the tree to water but saw that he was the bull I was looking for this weekend. All in all it was more productive than I had anticipated. It is a fantastic area during the rut; we’ll have to see how it is in November. Thanks again Mike for all your help and hospitality. Class act. Carl

Preferred vegetation to hunt coues in?
YOUNGGUNZ replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I like where the Ocotllio turn to Oaks. Right around the 4500 foot line. I love the hills that are desert on the south side and lush Oaks on the north. -
Alright. I have seen enough. - Im sold.

Just got back and I had a good time. Thanks to Corky, DCA and ABA for everything. -

They do beautiful work. Congrats on a phenominal buck!

This thing has never been out in the field, only to the range, approx 80 rounds through it. Custom thumb-hole stock, glass bedded, muzzle break, decelerator recoil pad, NC Star 6-24x50 rangefinding tactical scope, bi-pod, hard case and many custom reloads (168gr - 180gr). I saw how many of us were drawn this year for elk and this is the canon that will get the job done . $1995.00 obo.

Tree Stands or Ground Blinds?
YOUNGGUNZ replied to punkrcker1344's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
If you are hunting in the pines and are capable of climbing, definately a tree stand. Ifyou are hunting in the scrub oak, juniper, or mesquite thickets (trees not large enough to hang a stand) try backing a tripod stand into one of them. I have had terrific luck with that tactic. I have had deer a foot from the base of it and not spook, and my boy who shall remain nameless was able to shoot at three different bucks in one day from the same set up, not very likely when at nose, eye, and ear level. Just one humble hunters opinion. NOTE: Hunting from a tripod will not improve your shooting ability. What you do with it once the deer is infront of you is left up soley to you. ( I still love you Hal ) -
His name is Sven. He does all the Bird mounts for Wildlife Creations. Stellar work. He has birds all over the place. I believe he is a rehabilitation center for all types of birds.

Bowtech: Allegiance or Tribute?
YOUNGGUNZ replied to archeryasu's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I own the tribute and would not trade it for the world. It boosted my confidence through the roof. If you are shooting paper plates at 80 now you will be shooting soft balls with this. This may sound braggadocios but I go three for three with a pop can at 75 but like younghunter said practice practice practice. I can not say enough good things about this bow.
