If you have to preface a comment with "Not to sound like a jerk" your probably going to sound like a jerk (you do). Not that anybody asked you for your opinion but since when does the amount of posts a guy has determine the level help he gets. I offered my help to a hunter who has returned from serving this country. You can save your self righteous lecture on scouting and sharing info. The guy I got it from was thrilled when I told him my intent. As for scouting, we live four hours from this unit and have jobs. You have obviously mistaken me for someone who gives a crap about what you think.........wrong! You are going to fit in great around here. Welcome to the site. please tell us more about yourself, you sound like a swell guy really. It is great of you to help out another hunter especially a serviceman. Had I known something about that unit I would have too, just I would have sent a PM so it is not public to all the other trolls. and yeah I am a jerk if you stick around long enough (that is, not just when you are e-scouting) then you might see what kind of a jerk I really am...TOUGHGUY! Big Kiss

Welcome! Get a Good pair of binos and use them a lot. Love to hear how the scouting is going and a little bit about yourself. Good Luck to you.

34b was leftover tag for us. Never hunted that area either. I wouldnt worry to much about some selfish blowhard trying to protect their turf. I asked several people at work if they were familiar with that area (lots of hunters) finally found a guy that grew up hunting 34b. "SWEET" Hes going to get me maps, landowner info, and a ton of other info on that unit. email is gzeke@cox.net contact me and ill share the info I get...........unless he was full of sh.t ya never know. Not to sound like a jerk, becuase I do try to help guys when I can and I have asked for help on several occasions. BUT... This is the exact reason many folks won't help you out at all. Here are two guys with less that 10 posts between them and it appears the only reason you are here is to try to get as much info on where to hunt in your unit this year. Not that it is necessarily a bad thing but then you go and post that some guy at work decided to help you out (probably in confidence that you would not share said info with the world) and that you are going to not only share it with your other inner circle but you are going to presumably share it with anyone who emails you too. There are some courtesies and responsibilities you need to extend to the people who offer help by using that information wisely, protecting it and re-assuring them you have done so. I am pretty sure that many of the folks that would have helped you out will now reconsider after reading this... Welcome to the site. I look forward to hearing how your scouting and hunts go. I have never hunted in that unit but take the time to get there and scout. that is really the only way you are going to know what to expect. if its like areas I have been in before access can change from year to year. Get some good vantage points from where you can glass a lot of country with a good pair of binos and put the time in and you might just find what you are looking for.

wish I would have known before I headed up. But gave me an excuse to scout other areas... Per - INCIWEB http://inciweb.org/incident/2705/ Pleasant Valley, Ariz. (September 25, 2011 - 0930 hrs.) - Pleasant Valley Ranger District fire specialists are managing the lightning-caused Tanner wildfire, now about 2,000 acres, which began on August 20 near the peak of Armer Mountain in the Sierra Anchas. Fire activity may be visible to visitors and residents in the Tonto Basin, Globe, and Young areas and also when looking south from SR 260. Downdraft winds from a thunderstorm off Armer Mountain pushed the fire across Hwy. 288 yesterday evening around 7 pm and the fire burned through the dispersed camping area. No campers were present and no structures were lost. Hwy. 288 is closed from Rose Creek south to the intersection with Hwy. 188. "Yesterday, crews were focused on successful burning operations around the private properties of Dream Catcher and Rose Creek" stated John Thornburg, Fire Management Officer. Due to the increased size of the fire, a Type 3 team will assume mangement of the fire today. For further information, call the Pleasant Valley Ranger District offices at 928-462-4300, or stay updated at www.fs.usda.gov/Tonto. <BR style="CLEAR: right">

AZ G&F site gives good info on where to start. there is good road access to a lot of that unit. start your scouting by driving the roads getting a lay of the land. look for tracks, slides and game trails on the side of the roads. Oh and Burn baby Burn.. Good luck to your son!

Yeah she seems some animal rights activist from NM. google her from images and wolf pictures start coming up... problem with these people is they are too Fn stupid to know better but they are the ones making the most noise.

If you see this guy out there run like heck. It is the mythical Jaqueti! He is the father of the javelina species and takes revenge on successful hunters after they have partaken in to much drink during their post-kill celebrations. Dude Like for Real!

I guess I'm a wee bit conservative when it comes to what I watch, I've never seen that or a full episode of South Park. I could surely come up with more productive (for myself) ways to fill my free time, if I had any. I'm affraid this topic is spiraling out of it's intended purpose. And what was the intended purpose? Just to point out you are personally offended of someone practicing his art? You are perfectly willing to do that, but do so knowing that there are others who might not agree with your opinion and appearant short sightedness regarding the subject. I would like to see your reasoning behing your need to feel you want to beat ths Crap out of this guy.

Nice! I have never faced the issue but have thought it over many times and would like to think I would call it done at one. Like said above I got my animal just couldnt find it. But who is really going to post on here that they would keep wacking animals until they found one? I agree I dont think you are going to see very many if any at all who will say yes to this question. I also think I know where this question originated seeing another post about someone out looking for two wounded bulls. Pretty sad if you ask me. I have never had to face this but think one would be devastating enough for me to not want to risk it again. I am reletively new to bow hunting and realize there are a lot of things that might cause a shot to miss its mark. but if you dont have the knowledge, skill, time to find that animal I think you should not risk it. just one opinion. I would have liked to see this question as a poll then you might see a couple anonymous yes answers

well then maybe it should be the Carlos Mencia Motion LMAO...

I voted Nay. to many opinions and people involved for what it sounds like to me just a single RON WHITE declaration ends a thread. besides the useless unwinable threads are often the most entertaining. Maybe I am a little strange but I as I think do others sort of revel in other peoples misery. Hey take this poll down. I hearby declare you "RON WHITE" or Tater Tot of somthin' like that. See what I mean?

lets see how do others do it.. OK yeah... First, the sob-story I finally got drawn, second choice so happy none the less but have not been able to spend the time afield I had hoped and I have not hunted the in Unit 23 in over 20 years. I missed the entire bow season and dove hunts due to a nasty upper respritory infection that I am just now barely getting over. I have gotten out for a couple day trips but have been unable for the last month+ to hike/walk for any distance without horendous coughing fits which we all know results in seeing nada. And then, the humble plea: I am now starting to get back to 100% and am trying to make up for lost time. with a JR hunt and Coues hunt before mine I plan on making several trips up before and between hunts to do some real scouting. What I am looking for is someone who is familiar with the unit that I can bounce ideas off of as I already have some areas I am starting to narrow in on that I think warrant more time scouting. Just need to optimize my time and efforts. If you are familiar with the unit and don't mind providing a little feedback let me know and I will send you a PM. Can't forget the Thanks Thanks for taking the time to look and if you can help a fellow hunter out it is truly much appreciated. ewww glad that is done. I hate asking but a man has to to do...

Not to say necessarily anything to do with what happened in this case but Elkoholic IMO hit the nail on the head and echoes much of what I think on this subject. Hunting with family and other hunters in a group is not necessarily a bad thing and when I do so (especially with someone who I have not hunted with before or doesnt know much about it) it is important to use it as a teaching experience about the ethics that go along with hunting. My take is that there are a lot of trophy hunters out there wether they are an outfitter, guide, DIY hunter that get "Stupid" about it. and I compare it to Tournement fisherman who for the sake of winning or for the sake of trying to win some cash, have little or no concern for those around them. They tend to push the bounderies of courtesy and space if not have no care at all other than obtaining the goal they seek. So if you fish as well as hunt I am sure you can relate to this and if you are a tournement fisherman then you know how I feel about you in general as well. This does not mean they are all this way but a few rotten apples.... So...still sitting back and waiting to hear both sides.

I have seen whiteys from A-cross to all the way on top of the Rim. Don't rule out areas below 5000' I think finding a place you can glass a large area will increase your chances locating them as the other guys have said. I have a Muley tag for 23 later in the month so if I see any coues will glady send you a PM. Good Luck MThomas! Wade

Oh Yeah! thats a good one right there!

You guys might not know this but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one man wolf pack. But when my liberal, tree-hugging, granola crunching nothing better to do than try to monkey with the balance of things, not quite as smart as they think they are people released another like me, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack, it grew by one. So there... there was two of us in the wolf pack. I was alone first in the pack and another joined in later. And six months ago, when they introduced me to you guys I thought "wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added more guys to my wolf pack. A whole terdload of us wolves, running around the desert together in Arizona, looking for strippers and cocaine. I mean...Eating ranchers cattle and pets and terrorizing all other forms of wildlife and humans. -
Darn shame.

Taxis have done similar things for many many years. People have drawn/painted/sculpted things like Minitaurs, Centaurs, and other part this and part that creatures for eons. Focus your anger toward those scientists that are splicing genomes/DNA and trying to make it happen for real... Check this site out I kind of dig it. http://www.roguetaxi...etail.php?id=85
