Thanks for Sharing. I am getting pumped. I have to take some mandatory PTO next week so am going to use it as an excuse to get up to the lake. I want to hit San Carlos but since there will be ladies and kids with us I think it will be Rosey. Any reports of Crappie up there yet?

If this is the same buck we are talking about then congrats on a heck of a buck no matter what other people may think. Well done. I see no controversy on the below thread but who cares anyway? It is your story to tell and no one should say they know otherwise unless they were there. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...ic=17123&hl=

Thanks for the report Brian. I'm glad you put some in the boat. Please let us know how things turn out on San Carlos. It is going to be another week and a half before I head up and still not sure which of those two lakes I want to hit first.

Well Done!

Too cool. I have caught a bass with a rainbow trout halfway down the bass's throat. That looks to be decent size crappie the way it looks from the pic. Awesome!

According to Snopes it is True. LMAO. Just another bit of straight shooting from the "Nuge". Gotta Love it...

Thanks for the report Brian. I am so excited about the outlook for fishing this year. And stoked that San Carlos may not be as bad as we all thought back in December. Did you catch the bass fishing deep or were they in the shallows, if you dont mind my asking?

What is bad is one takes scientific observations and factual data and uses only a very minor portion of it to try to make their opinion look as true. Is it good to reduce carbon footprint absolutely.. but "Global Warming" as it has been presented by the do gooder Gore and his cronies. give me a break. Fact: Earth has been here millions of years and will be hear for millions more... I hope

I was up with the wife and my sister yesterday. Did not see any carp for that matter we didnt see much of anything. I did get one slot bass on a chartruese spinnerbait but that was it. We were fishing for crappie though and what we did see on the finder were not interested in what we had to offer. We launched from Schoolhouse and the ramp was clear in the morning. there was a light wind around mid-day for a while and by the time we loaded up, the ramp was pretty soupy, though I have seen it worse. Clay were you fishing the Tonto end? I am thinking it may be a bit more open on that side of Windy Hill.

I don't think you're a softy at all. It was a ton of bloodshed, and 0% respect for the animal. Not hunting, as most would consider it. When I was younger I used to love going out and shooting jackrabbits just to shoot them. Now I don't shoot them at all (except occasionally with archery tackle). I just don't have any need to kill for the sake of killing alone. Even last weekend I had a softy moment with a coyote. I was deer hunting, saw him and nocked an arrow, and then just let him walk. Never thought I'd ever pass up that kind of opportunity but at that moment I just didn't want to kill him. I even felt a sort of 'hippy' connection with him. It was weird. But watching moving targets get walloped out of a helicopter was really pretty cool. I find watching cockraches laying on thier back kicking their legs after I spray poison on them a little disturbing too. OK not really but you get the point. These hogs devestate certain areas and the farmers have to do what it takes to make a living. Pigs are to farmers what Wolves were/are to ranchers. I would hope these animals are being recovered and the meat being put to use however. Oh and that would make one heck of a video game...

Outstanding!

I have the Barta Stalker pack and as Coues79 mentioned they are almost Identical. The size of this pack is perfect as a day pack or for short trips as it is. The webbing allows for additions or strapping on additional gear if needed. And it is one of the most comfortable fitting packs I have tried. The pack was easily adjusted to fit my short torso as well. I dont think you would go wrong with the Halftrack.
