A group of us were hunting down south and saw these illegals walking through a dried up creek bottom and turned BP onto them. BP caught up with them and I got to see our tax dollars at work...

I can't believe my luck! I just took this guy yesterday evening. He is by far the biggest desert muley I'v taken and I am stoked! I stalked him for 350 yards on my stomach and got to 44 yards and shot him in his bed while he was chewing his cud. I actually stood up in plain sight as his eyes were closed and smoked him. He went 12 yards and died. All the does jumped up along with another buck and they just started blowing and stomping before bounding off! A memorable hunt and a great conclusion to 08! I'll hopefully see you in 09!!! P.S. Brian... Too bad we were'nt able to hook up this time we gotta do it again real soon... Good luck everyone!

That's awesome how you got such good pic's of him alive. Way to go on a great desert buck... Not too many of them around. My hat's off...

Just called it in. It is really quick and simple!

Another... here is a picture of him alive through the scope!

Here is another larger photo. Thank you all for the kind words. He was a real challenge for me and represents my largest archery deer. I am very excited about him. I don't know how to score that well, so the measurements I took are very conservative, I would rather under judge him than over!

Looks like he will go 170 gross and 161 net.

I am either lucky or.......... lucky! Ended up getting this guy an hour before last light on Dec. 31st. We hunted hard and actually blew a couple good stalks on a good 4 point when the doe's busted me. I had a blast. He is 25 1/4" wide with 4 1/2" bases. I shot him quartering away at 90 yards. Entered behind the left shoulder and stopped behind his right shoulder. He went 20 yards and took his final nap. P.s. Brian, Scott and Tommy... You guy's were great company! I look forward to hunting with you guy's again soon! Hopefully the coues cooperate next time Oh and I gotta get some of those 15X with a tripod... Boy you guy's know how to glass!

I'm using CX hunter 300's with Sullivan Stainless extreme 100 grains. Seems pretty consistent and I like the set up. There's always an element of luck in any hunt, loks like the stars were aligned!

Is it still going in your unit??? 30a is a little still.
-
Yes... I have been in 30b, however I have been doing some scouting in 30a and 29 as well. I think the rutt is still going good in the southern parts. I'm not so sure what all this snow is going to do??? We'll see...

Been looking at the Dragoons... Havn't seen too many whitetail bucks though. Mostly Mulies. I have been over near Wilcox too.
