I have a couple extra packs that i need to get rid of. Both are in excellent shape. The eberlestock is J104 model. It has tons of space and has the rifle scabbard. The badlands pack is an older super day model. It has barley been used. Both packs for $200. Cant go wrong with them. thanks

I have had both the Jim White and the Outdoorsman pan head. The Outdoorsmans head is far better than the Jim White in my opinion. It is awesome. Jake

My wife had her first deer tag down south this year in late Oct. After a couple days of scouting, and hunting, she was able to hammer this guy saturday morning. We spotted him way up on the highest ridge in the area. SHe was able close some distance but still it was going to be a 538 yard shot straight up. She was able to get a solid rest and the rest is history. She mad a perfect shot, the buck went straight down. I couldnt be any happier. My hunting buddy Eric and i then had a couple tags in a unit neither of us have ever hunted before. We spent the last couple months getting all the info we could about the area we wanted to hunt. I was able to make one scouting trip, to try to get a feel for the land and some spots that looked like coues country. We were able to get up there a couple days before the hunt to get some more scouting in. Opening morning found us on a high knob, half a mile from the road before the sun was up. We saw tons of does and some spikes but nothing we wanted. The sun was hot and it was late so we decided to head back for lunch and then head back out. That evening found us in another great looking area. We got our tripods and binos set up and with in seconds Eric spotted two bucks. Eric packed up and was off running. He was able to get 451 yards from the bucks and made a perfect kill shot on the bigger buck. I was still back 738 yards from the deer. I decided to take a crack on the smaller buck. I got down on my pack, dailed in my scope and took the shot. I heard the "thud" and knew he was down. With two bucks down, and the sun going down we had to get to work. It wasnt the toad i wanted but i couldnt ask for a better way to end the hunt.

Advice about 178 Hornady A max

Thats the same bullet i use in my 300WSM and i have had great success with it. I have had a couple kills in the 350 yard range as well as one in the 570 range. It did the job every time and always put game down fast. It would recommed it at long ranges for sure. Jake -
What weird stuff have you glassed or happen well glassing for game?

A couple years ago i was down in 36b doing some scouting and saw something i never thought i would. I was right near Ruby and happened to glass down by the lake and saw some people skinny dipping. THere had to be at least 5 or 6 of them down there swimming away. It was pretty interesting to say the least. Jake -
Smart move Mitch! I need to get out of here for a couple days too!

I have been thinking about updating my hunting backpack. I have a Badlands 2200 and a Badlands Diablo right now but am looking at something that i can carry my gun while walking. Im leaning towards the Eberlestock X1A1, its the size i like and will hold a gun. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with one and what they thought. Thanks. Jake

Matt, nice looking buck!! -
I was wondering if anyone has used the Outdoorsman Dual Mount or one similar to it? I hate to fork out the money not knowing much about it. I have the outdoorsman head and tripod and am very happy with. The quaility of the outdoorsman products is second to none in my opinion so i dont think i could go wrong with the dual mount but would just like to get any feedback aboout it. Thanks

Sportmans Warehouse has a nice little three-legged stoll for only $5. Its light, comfortable and easy to pack around.
