Do not take this as Gospel But My understanding of the Federal laws say; you may not shorten a Rifle barrel to under 16" but a hand gun has no limitations on length. Guess I should add that also includes Shot guns sold with a barrel 16" or longer

I have been searching the Regs and GF web site to verify the max barrel length for a hand gun for Hunting during a HAM hunt. Any one know for sure?

Have you harvested a Coues Buck? If it is your first one than take that forkie. As stated, any Coues with a bow is an accomplishment. If it would be your first archery Buck and do not have a rifle tag GO FOR IT. If you have a rifle tag I would not settle for less than you would w/ a rifle. I also have a little rule I set for myself: If he is not just a Pig, I would much rather have a nice typical in velvet than a non-typical in velvet. My $.02

The best that the Lyman 48th edition is showing is 3247fps over a max load of N160. Looks like your right in the ball park and may want to make the scope adjustments.
