JK You are very right but 99% of the carp stuff is just in fun Most of us have or will hunt carp and really love them also This is CWT.com so we have to poke fun at the guys who love them carp. just like most (some) Harley Bikers will make a jab at the rice burners. I think they respect them for being riders just as we do for being hunters. It is just human nature to tease sometimes

I just received my Quite Hide holster today from Dave and all I can start with is WOW. The Man is a fine craftsman and cares about the product he puts out. The communication is beyond belief. I had some special wants that was a new Idea and he fulfilled them to the tee. He can make you a holster for any gun to be carried the way you want. I wanted to be able to carry my Contender in the normal bandoleer (sp?) fashion but also wanted to be able to take that off and attach it to my packs I gave him my ideas and we kicked it around a bit and he did exactly what I wanted. I also made it a bit harder with it fitting my 3 main hunting configurations with different barrel lengths and scope configurations. This fire is about 5 miles North of my house It started in the valley in the right of the pictures. (Water Wheel camp area) Within 20 minutes it had made a run up the hill to the top and continues traveling west along the Little Diamond towards Geronimo Estates. If you are familiar with the areaa the fire is directly above Beaver Valley to the north. Beaver Valley and Whispering Pines have been evacuated and I believe they are getting ready to evacuate Verde Glen and the Washington Park area which means it must have jumped the Control road which is on the back side of the hill. Last picture is threw my 15's

You should be fine for your trip. Just had a nice little system move threw the west end of the fire and should help allot. Bad news is there is a bunch of lighting hitting the ground. Not sure if it is good news or bad but just watched Tanker 00 make 2 drops. Looks like he was headed towards Flagstaff and the spotter plain headed towards Prescott.

For anyone interested the Cords for the fire are: Start= N34*21.100' W111*17.100 Center as best I can tell= N34*21.700' W111*17.100 Far West as best I can tell= N34*21.800' W111*18.600 For the most part it is on the far side of the hill in the pictures so I can not see much other than smoke and air support. At this time the evacuations will be in affect for 2 or three more days But on a good note the Forest service is allowing Animal Control to escort home owners into the area to retrieve there animals left behind from the fast evacuation.

There is one or maybe 2 bigger heli's working it now. Not the big boys but do have an on board tank since I can see the snorkel. They are painted red and white like the slurry bombers. I have only seen 1 but it is returning very quickly making me think there are 2. Anyone know where they are dipping?

There were supposed to be 2 sky cranes on seen Today but I have only seen 3 small heli's with bladders working it. Now up to 750 acres.

The fire is a long ways from Diamond Point and headed the opposite direction. It laid down good last night but we are expecting some winds today. They are dozing a line around Wispering Pines. Fire is said to be a little over 500 acres. They have 2 helicopters working it and not sure if the tankers are coming yet because they may have to go to California. 200 Fire Fighters on it. My hat goes off to those guys They have asked all campers along the Control Rd to pack up.

Doug I did see the Slurrys drop about 5:30 but from what a friend told me (Hearsay) They have to go to Winslow to reload and he had heard it takes either 45 minutes or 1Hour 45 minutes to make the round trip. There is one small helicopter working it but they just can't haul much water. Just a second ago I heard on the radio the have pulled off the air attack since night fall is here.
