I love my 700, It's a older BDL And with trigger work, muzzle break and a bedded laminate stock it shoots better than I can. I think you made the best choice in caliber as noted in my signature line. Here is a picture of my 7MM's The 700 is the top one

Oh! by the way. I new member must post at least 10 pictures before they can make any more posts JK but do you have some pics to post -
All I can say is snakes are good and that one is REALLY good. Would not have a problem with one around my house but my dog would not let that happen as it would be competing for her fun time of taking care of vermin Heck, if he happening to come into the house I would let it clean things up But the misses may not be so kine on that idea

308, First let me say I have enjoyed your educated posts when it comes to weapons. I have been working real hard over the last couple years to become so informed myself and have spent allot of time and money on my equipment to make me better prepared. The person who called me has also done the same and his go to 300WM sports a Huskey scope complete with turrets for his projectile and load and spends the time to know his weapon as well as his gun Most hunters do not take the time we should to practice like we should including me until a few years ago, just go to the range and fire off a few rounds to verifie it still shoots OK. As I stated, I have no idea what the situation was since he was whispering as few words as possible. My speculation is he was guiding a hunter who maybe just crawled off a plane the night before Or maybe was with a 11 year old nephew or something and Dad could have snuck back off the perch to visit mother nature but became pinned down and could not come back into the play. Either way I am sure he used his own range finder (not the shooters) and when told the range to him the shooter had no clue to what to do. The caller not owning the same gun or caliber himself did not know what to expect from its performance so seeked out as much knowledge as he could as fast as he could to make the most educated decision that he could. I by no means took offense to your post and what you said was true. I just wanted to shed a little light on the situation so you and others would better understand what was happening at the time. I still have not talked to him since our 2 very short and quite conversations and do not know the outcome or even if my speculations are correct.

GameHauler replied to lionhunter's topic in Classified Ads
If I did not already have a pair or if they were 50's I would own them. What a great price. Somebody is waiting to long to grab them. -
Is this ethical. Using satelites, computers, the internet, hand held electronic talking devises, etc to relay bullet trajectories to hunters in the field? Now, before you all get your thongs in a knot, I know this is not nearly as techy and advanced as dropping a block of salt on the ground, but still....have some pride. Yeah, You may be right Most on the site know the guy who called me. I do not know if it is a guided hunt or family but he knows his guns and knows when not to make a bad shoot. Who ever is with him I guess is buying factory ammo and may not spend time at the range knowing his weapon> (his gun) Was it wrong for him to call me for info I could find out or tell The hunter to hold here and hope he was right ending up with a BBD or a wounded critter they would maybe find right away or maybe spend the next three days trying to locate? This could lead into another Ethical debate like the last one but Why He was able to call and find out as much info as possible to make a clean Harvest. To me that sounds like nothing but GOOD

I read the first couple post in this topic and said: Dumb Butt, you need to ignore this one After 5 pages being made I could not stand it and had to read. I made the right choice and this topic I could have layed out exactly where it would go. I could write a whole page myself now replying to the posts made but am still staying OUT. I am glad to see it is coming to an end but I do want to say: CWT has changed over the last few years and that is because it has grown. The founders are GREAT people and the members who followed were very close. We now have over 3000 members and we all can not agree I have to express MY OPINION that some of the newer members have been pretty vocal with their opinions and this is why we have so much conflict. Most of the older Members who have made hundreds or thousands of post do not even reply any more Yes, we are still here and reading but replying less. Welcome all new comers, and have fun and enjoy the knowledge and fun that can be had on the best hunting site on the web. I guess the last thing I want to say is: If you enjoy MM I am not sure you fit well with the family Personal Signature on this One, Mike (AKA GameHauler)

I am not laughing at you but with you I moved here in 1980. Talk about a cultural shock and the hunting was 90* What the heck do you mean cap it out That is done after it is hung in the barn after a week I will give some more input but for now: Best optics you can't afford and the best pack you can't afford Will get you started in the right direction. Have fun, it's a trip nothing like back East (North)

Tough area to find a job I would think. Might try the feed store just down University if they are still there. Maybe they could use you part time to load and unload trucks. Is that little gun shop still in the area? maybe you could sweep every couple days or so. Maybe some of the mechanics shops would let you mop up after school. I know times are tough out there but I still think the same as I did 50 years ago that someone WANTS to work, Work is to be had. Good luck.

SWEET What a stud of a RAM. Congratulations on a tough hunt.

Congratulations again Tim and thanks for the good writeup. Give the boy a hug for me and tell him again what a trouper he was. NOW! when do we get to hear the rest of the story from this year -
I knew about and forgot about the NRA insurance Guess it is because of all the mail I get from them but seldom read, The only real problem I have with them and still feel we all should join. Does anyone else have insurance from them and has anyone used it? Looks like the safest way to go. Thanks DB, scoutm and joeeden for the input
