I bought one and like it. No it is not padded (much) but does protect from the little gotchas I have a really bad back and it helps to reduce the strain on the back. Is it worth the money? To me yes. To a young'n who has not killed their back yet? Yes, if they have the bucks to get one. Can not beat sitting in a lawn chair or standing up But for a pack in, stay for a while chair. Pretty nice.
