Talked with Christian yesterday and he is staying up there through the weekend to get in some archery deer hunting and possibly some more scouting. The other guys are fair game though

sd card stolen!!!!!
Basser15 replied to jonscaife's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
They either had to haul bolt cutters a long way into the woods, or you guys had it sitting in a very accessible spot. Unfortunatley it seems that the closer they are to roads the higher the rate of thefts/vandalism is. Sad state of affairs. -
It's a great looking bull, looking forward to the field photos!

Since you've never killed a buck with a bow, I'd have to say that any buck that comes into range is worth forfeiting a tag in November.

With all the game cams that are now in use across the county, I'm pretty sure that if there was such thing as Bigfoot that it would have several pics floating around the internet.

lonely pop-trailers on National Forest land
Basser15 replied to SilentButDeadly's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Just out of curiosity, does it really bother a lot of you guys if someone wants to leave their trailer up there? I'd have to say that it doesn't sound like a bad idea if you're up there scouting prior to a hunt and don't feel like pulling it back and forth each weekend. Yeah I'm sure some of them are trying to stake claim on a spot while others are probably just trying to save a little time and money on their trips. -
Thanks, 25-06. I'll get back to you.

Want to throw this out there to keep your eyes and ears open for a used or a good deal on a new .270 rifle. My twin brothers(they are 11 this year) both have a rifle bull hunt this year and I need to figure out what I'm going to do for their rifles. Was thinking that I could try Jordan on my 30.06 with the reduced recoil rounds. He's quite a bit bigger than his brother and think he could handle it. Thinking that a .270 would be just right for Josh, plus I would like to add one to the gun safe anyway. They were pretty good about taking turns carrying during their turkey hunt two seasons ago but this time I would like for them both to carry. Thanks for any help.

Lance put together the video from my turkey hunt this past spring. Don't mind him saying "Wait....Wait" I either didn't hear or just couldn't wait any longer

So I might have missed a difficult 8-10 yard shot on those birds. My main concern was that they were looking to rough up my jake decoy....had to defend the poor guy. Besides, it was only 5:45am and I was having way too much fun for it to end that early....so I gave it a few more seconds

Need to find a treestand that I can trust and is light weight enough to pack in. What do you use or would you suggest? Thanks in advance.

I vote "Little Shard Talker" cause you seem to do a lot of that! Second would be "Little Whacker"....it just seems to fit -
Coues Deer Celebration 5!!!
Basser15 replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Very nice! -
You're 28 and still don't ever see 1am... Give the kid a break, he's got a picture of a nice elk and is pretty excited to share it during his summer break. Looks good!
-
Hey Doug, not sure if I'll be making it like I told you the other week. Been turning over the idea of heading to Oregon that week to see some family and get in some salmon and bottom fishing in. If I'm in the state I'll be there though.

Tucson adult baseball league?
Basser15 replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
Call or email the City of Mesa. They have an adult league and would probably have the contact for any other leagues in the state, hopefully one down your way. www.ci.mesa.az.us -
Already posted some pics of the "sheds" we found but also wanted to share some pics of a bull to see what you guys think? Also got a pic of this guy wandering around.

Nate, that's where I found it from We were out for a ride and had some elk run across in front of us, and when I was looking at them through the binos I saw the tines sticking up. And the theory of the animals chewing it up does sound like it could be right as there was a skeleton close by.
-
Wish I would have thought to take a "As they lie" picture as one was lying on top of the other. Both are broken off at the same spot between the second and third tines and appear to be from the same bull. They look to be a couple seasons old, and have remnants of velvet still remaining. Have a look

That's a great collection of sheds, and stories right there!

Basser15 replied to Ron G.'s topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Nice pics Ron! Looks like the water level is already going down....hopefully we'll get some good monsoons to keep it full for duck season, and keep those racks growing. -
Well ya can't fault a guy for trying...haha
