Very interesting....I had no idea about this but have started reading some stuff on it tonight. I know I had a coyote try to lure my lab out of camp one night into its pack but haven't heard of the reverse happening until today.

Could you post the link to the forum topic for me? now it's got me intrigued too.

What do you guys think of this water transfer Euro mount
Basser15 replied to AZBUCKEYE's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I think that's pretty sweet. First impression is to get a different mount or backdrop so the designs on the skull stand out a little better. -
Here's several videos that I uploaded from the hunt. Again, I'm bummed I missed the kill shot with WOODSAZ's son in his pack during the stalk and shot. Getting ready: Ready for the Stalk: A Little Celebration:

Awesome! Congrats on your first big game animal, and with your family I'm sure there are many more to come.

Here's the set Woodsaz was referring to. We found them stacked on top of each other and you can see that they were equally chewed on both antlers. Here's a closer up image of them and the velvet that was remaining. Both sides had patches on them.

Awesome! Congrats to the group. -
Once again, great job on your first coues! Little different terrain than you're used to, huh

Thanks again guys for letting me tag along and share in the experience. It really was awesome seeing how excited these boys are to be out there and I am looking forward to see what kind of hunters they turn in to. I still don't have the videos uploaded of the boys getting painted up and getting ready for the stalk but will next week sometime.....that's funny stuff! Edit for pics: Getting ready: Ready for the Stalk: A Little Celebration:

Maybe he's got it right....sleep in, eat great camp food, enjoying the outdoors, and will be waiting in camp for you AFTER the pack out is complete

Nice work Houston. Congrats on the deer!

Mesa Police Would Like Your Help
Basser15 replied to DesertDiesel's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
The economy has hit everyone pretty hard. Santa has sent his elves out to in force to gather presents any way they can... -
Helped a buddy last weekend fill his Dec tag. He wanted to better his deer from last year(which wasn't hard to do) but needed to get it done before X-mas since he would be out of town or working for the rest of the year. Houston came out on the first weekend of the season and we were unable to find him a deer he was wanting to fill his tag with. The second weekend we found this guy and my buddy made a great stalk on it. Only downside was that he kicked out two much bigger deer along his way and I was unable to get ahold of him to let him know...oh well. He ended up getting into position and making a great shot which I got to watch from a distance. Pretty cool to watch a buck drop in his tracks and then hear the ring of the gun several seconds later.

Congrats again on her first buck! You two will have many years to find her one even bigger. I would normally take offense to that....but she is quite the looker
-
Still a great deer, congrats! Guess you might get a little spoiled after the buck you killed last year....
-
Once again, awesome work there Lance.
-
Great work once again Lance.

Bunch of great pics there Houston. Glad to have shared on a couple of hunts with you this fall and I can vouch on the Widowmaker's effectiveness....

Voted for em. I'm also a Gilbert alum from '99.

Good work TLO!

That's really awesome. Congrats to the both of you!

Saweeet! Congrats on the lion. I think you should find a way to mount your lion and your son's buck from this season together.
-
NIIIICE! Once again bud congrats on a great animal. That's a great looking deer and way to stick with it.
-
And shortly after WOODSAZ posted that pic of a lion he checked one of the other cams that we set up a couple of weeks ago on an area that just looked like it should have animals walking through. Guess we were right... We're pretty sure that this is the same one that he almost got a shot at during our archery elk hunt last year.

Nice work! Kind of wonder if those bucks were a father/son combo as well
