My son has this hunt and his tag is for an antlerless elk. We were planning on a trip there this weekend but it did not work out. We'll be up there a couple days early to do some scouting and I'm hoping for some late rut activity. Good luck to your son Shooter. Eddie

Not sure about 10x42's but there are generations for 12x50 EL's. I know as I called SCS as I am thinking of buying a pair and wanted to get the latest generation. In the 12x50 case, anything made on 2015 or after is the latest. Good luck, Eddie

I bought THIS on sale for $99 at the Scottsdale Costco a couple months ago for our elk hunts later this year. Might still be on sale, but even at $140 and their return policy, it's an easy decision. Good luck, Eddie
