In the event anyone wants to see a cicada up close and personal. Wife and I out for a walk a few nights ago and by chance I noticed this bad boy at the end of a branch and its silhouette stuck out like a sore thumb even at night. This one was making all kinds of noise by vibrating its wings. Eddie

Well, perusing the open vs. closed area sure is way harder than my two brain cells can handle. So can I drive out to Bartlett Lake and maybe do a little desert exploring off the Bartlett Lake Road? That's withing the orange highlighted area, but it says some areas are open within that area. Eddie
