I was thinking the same thing. I helped a biologist for a day locating some in the dens and its amazing what they can fit themselves into. Another intrusting fact is that the females will reobsorbe their unlead eggs in drought years.

I was thinking the same thing. do you hold the triger down half way to prepair for the shot?

Hey shortpants if you are looking at getting a compact camera look at the Cannon PowerShot Elphs. I just got one off ebay 4mp, they have a lot higher mp if you want, for a very reasonable price. I'm also impresed with the shutter speed to. I realy like it.

First attempt at digiscopeing
IHunt2live posted a topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I went out scouting yesterday and it ended up being quit a short trip. Going into the area i had to cross quit a few running washes which I was pushing my luck crossing. Finnally got to the area and was able to glass for about 30 min and it started to look like it was going to rain. It did rain and I didn't want to get stuck back there with flooded washes so I had to take off. I did see this buck about 3/4 of a mile or so and I got a few pics of him. May be hard to see, he was a ways out there but hes just a fork right now may be a small three point by the time hes done growing. I'll let someone else in my hunting part shoot him if they want. I know theres bigger bucks in there. -

As a college student I have a very tight buget. I just got a Cannon powershot elph, which I love for its compact size, allows me to keep it handy so I take more pics. and my scope, well its a peice of crap but I pretty much got it for free. I'm looking at getting another spotting scope probable for my hunt in Nov. I don't have any fancy brackets or anything just hold the camer up to the eye peice. -
Looks like a nice size cat. Congrats.

Thanks for another awesome video Amanda. I don't have the greatest connection sometimes and it took a while to load but to me it was worth the wait for the higher quality. -
Backpacking Tripod for sitting and shooting off
IHunt2live replied to Billinsd's topic in Optics and tripods
Don't think I could help you out much but I use my tripod to shoot off of all the time. Not sure what the tripod you are looking at is set up but the long handle that comes out the back of mine, I point that up about 45 degrees and rest my gun between the handle and the base. Not fancy but it sure is a steady rest. -
I hope you get your trophy. Maybe this year his sporting a little extra, maybe even another point.

If the bull weren't even a bull, say a rabit or a dove, I wonder if the Game and Fish would have made as big of a deal. I wouldn't think not. I say give it a rest and let the hunter have his elk.
-
Same old bull. Compare to other elk.

I didn't get an elk tag this year so I don't care who kills it but I would love to see someone fill their tag with #3. -
WOW! Tell us more about some of your trophys. Maybe some more pics to. Congrats!

Its sad when some people get a little authority they turn into complete jerks. I am greatful that there are those out there in that line of work, working for the public and not just for the power.

Yes its still hot in november but maybe a little better the oct. My last nov. hunt I got up at 4 am and starting hiking and was sweating pretty good. I don't think it got bellow 75 degrees. The next morning however I woke up with frost on my deer hanging in the tree. I like nov. hunt because the chances its a little cooler are better and a few extra days to hunt... if I need them.

Drinking Moutian Dew and eating all the sugar I can find does me pretty good. I know it will catch up to me some day but I hve been about 155 lb since I got out of high school so I'm taking advatage of it while I can. Seriously though... sounds like your doing what you need to. For building strength in your legs look for some stairs or hills to climb. Try to get out in some coues country and hike.

quote name='CouesWhitetail' date='Jul 28 2007, 07:19 PM' post='69786'] Nice pics, looks like very nice country. I love old mines and mine communities. Neat old jeeps too! Rim-to-Rim in one day is hardcore! No pics from your wife's hike? Or you don't let her take the camera! Amanda Well, my wife has her own camera and I get after her for not taking enough pics. She did take a few down there. sorry for not posting some. I have a lot from that trip and I can't post them all here. I forgot to mention... I forget the name of the little town just south of the grand canyon park but I saw a CWT.com sticker on a white, (all cover in mudd) chevy 1500. Who was it? It was park in the Grand Hotel parking lot June 25th. I pulled into the parking lot to get a pick of this guy. sorry its not that good of a pic. If you look close you can tell he was not in that good of shape. kind of skinny. There was another six by with him and a few rag horns.

Well, I just got back from a two week trip to Colorado took a few days getting up there and getting back. Thought I would share some pics. We stayed up near Gunnison up about 10,000 feet, it never got above 80. I got to do a little flyfishing and driving around in some friend's old 1948 and 1953 jeep willys and saw some awesome views. The area also had TONS of old mines and mining communities scattered around. Thought you all might like this. There is a store in Gunnison, which some of you may have herd of, I guess it has the most mounts and antlers then anywhere in colorado. Most of it was for sale exept for a few pieces. He had one elk shed priced at $325, it had mre mass then I had ever seen. Elk pick-ups, even rag horns were $100 and up and good ones with nice color where $300+. heres a few pics. Then on the way back my wife and her dad hiked the grand canyon, north rim to south rim, in one day. I got to drive the truck around and meet them on the other side. I had a look around on the Kibab a bit but I had never been up there so it was more of just driving the rounds. I did find someones lost cow elk, found half the arrow with the bones east of flag if anyones been looking . Anyway we had a good time. hard to come back to the heat but at least we were welcomed back with som HEAVY rain here in Tucson.

Been out of town for a couple and just found out that I got a unit 33 nov. tag. Can't wait! I'll be in there during the archery season to. -
My camera was up for about two weeks before I was able to get it picked up. Had a lot of empty frames but one nice buck crossed the day before it was picked up. The pic before this one was the back end of a deer and its head behind the bear grass, I was a little upset thinking I missed it, but he picked up his head for the second shot. I also got this pic and I can't figure out what it is. Maybe one of you are an expert with photo-shop and figure out what the heck it is.

broadheads you guys are shooting?
IHunt2live replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain. Put a cow elk down, hit in the liver, in about 15 min, went about a total of about 5 yards. Convinced me to stick with them. I do have a friend that loves his min-max 3 and if I went mechenical I'd give them a try.
