Can't see that man shooting anything less then a stud. Can't wait to see pics.

I've done some bird hunting on the eastern side, off of Rail X Ranch Road, and have never seen any coues. If there are any I probably wouldn't hunt coues in there because they would be few and far between. The way coues have been moving down hill maybe they will start to populated areas like that in a few years.

Is it ethical to shoot a deer 1000, 800, 500, .... yrds? I know guys who don't shoot over 200 yrds because they think it is unethical to shoot further. Is there going to be a yardage limit you can shoot in the future? I have a trail cam set up right now, its not in a unit I hunt much but I would like to know whats out there. Being a college student, and working, I'm not able to get out as often as some other people can. Guys are out there at least once a week patterning the deer but I'm stuck at home and work. Sure a camera might replace some leg work but its not nearly as good as that leg work. I think there will always be talk on what ethical and whats not but I don't agree with outlawing or resticting every little thing. Sure there must be some rules but there comes a point were enough is enough.

I know this feeling all too well. I still haven't found ANYONE that is willing to apply and become a WM since all they spout is that they themselves could do better or know exactly how things should be done. Not one person, go figure. BTW... tell your buddy I said hi. cmc Chris McCotter I'm with you guys. I've talked with Martin and he has expressed the same concern with me. To bad to I'm sure he could add a lot to the site. Sorry, I'm not willing to apply to be a WM but I am working towards being a Wildlife Biologist and I'll work for the GF someday if they will hire me.

Waht I've done in the past is look on sites on the internet that provide seatilite photos. Google earth is a good example and its free. You can tilt the maps and see elevation changes, and if you look close you can find some water.

Wow congrats to your friend. I'd hunt a lifetime for a trophy like that. -
Preferred vegetation to hunt coues in?
IHunt2live replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Were ever I can find them! Lately I've been up in the Oak. When I'm hunting coues, or hunting in general I try to get away from everybody else so I end up hiking high and far. -

Wow, your the first one from the site to see me since I put the sticker on in January. All the driving around I do its amazing no one had seen me till now. -
I don't want to steal this thread but that reminded me of something I saw while working up in Utah. As we were driving down this dirt road me and a couple of other guys all at the same time saw something out of the corner of our eye. There was this big dust cloud about 75 yards from the road and out of this cloud came an antelope doe hot on the tail of a coyote. We don't know if the coyote was after the lope, but my guess would be that the lope was chasing the coyote and knocked it down and still went chasing after it. It was fawning season and the doe could have been protecting her fawn. The chace went on for about 200 yards. Quit a site to see.

Just got an E-mail from the manager who check the doe out and it turns out that she probabley just died of old age, she was 11+ years old. I felt bad sending him out there. I should have looked at her a bit better but I was a little busy looking for live deer . He is a great guy and hopefuly I'll be able to find some time to do a ride along with him.

I thought I might start a post for all of us who unlucky enough to fill or tags this weekend. I may have not filled my tag but I had a great time. In about a day and a half I ended up seeing at least a dozen bucks, mostly fork-horns but a few three points. One three point I would say was in the mid to upper 80's. I had my heart set one a big one knowing that I had a rife tag for the same area in Nov. The weather was awesome, for August, I had clud cover the whole time and just a little rain Saturday morning. I also saw three big Javileans, who ran off one of the good three poins. Didn't have any shots or any close calls but did I mention it was a blast, Seeing at least 12 bucks is a good day in my book. On a depressing note, I ran across a doe, who sure looks like was shot by poachers. I'll save you from the nasty pics, she was about a week old, but there is a whole right in the center of her vitals that sure looks like was caused by a bullet. Anyone have any good stories of those bucks that got away?

It's been reported. I just talked to the manager in the area. He was acualy in the area and saw my truck, he mentioned the "CouesWhitetail.com" sticker. I emailed the location and the pics to him, its in their hands now. I have to say that they must have a heck of a time trying to investigate poaching cases. It had rained sence it happened, so the best evidence they can hope for is a bullet.

Thought I would share this with you all. It only took 8 months to get it back from the tannery. I'm pleased how it turned out. The taxidermist didn't charge me anything to finish skinning out the feet an ears, I just had to pay for the tanning. I couldn't really afford a mount plus it was a small one but I thought I would get it at least tanned. The hole you see in the front is were the arrow went in. Sure a good looking pelt.

FYI: Hurricane Dean effects on AZ Archery Hunt

How do you all like the rain hunting? Deer hunting I love a light rain. I say bring on the rain this weekend, nothing going to stop me from getting out there exept for flooded washes. I didn't think I was going to be able to get out at all this weekend but it looks like I might be able to do a 1.5 dayer. Good Luck to you all! -
Yes.... I think non typicals are caused by all those, and cactus bucks its ether damage or just born that way. Check out Jim Heffelfingers "Deer of the Southwest" he covers that area realy well. He also has some articles that he has written on his website, www.deernut.com. Check it out.

if both computers have an ethernet jet, looks like a large phone jet, you can get a direct conect network cable to have the two computers talking to eachother.

Thats awesome. I remember the days bluegill fishing with my dad when I was that age. It was those days that got me hocked to the outdoors.

I'de also like to help as long as the date works. Are they still putting that developed shooting range up there? I'de like to think that that might help but then again it probably wont.
