BUT THEY WERE STILL ON THE BUCKS HEAD. Being to early for whiteatils I thought I would try to find some mulie sheds. I want out monday and today. I would glas during prime time then walk around a bit. Only saw a few does on Monday and saw these whitetails, ones behind the bush, when I was driving out. Today I glassed up 4 yotes and the biggest herd of mule deer I've ever seen. 14 does and 1 Buck. Heres a pic of the buck. Shot it through my spotting scope so thats why its so crapy. He looked like a big forky maybe had little 3rds. I watch them for about an hour just wishing for his antlers to drop. He even did a little rubbing on trees still they wouldn't come off. It's sure nice to get out and walk around the desert this time of year. I'm trying to take advatage of this time before it gets to hot. Mike

Red Rabbit is talking about Arizona Trust Land. BLM does not require any permit to access but it does contain a lot of no entry wilderness areas. The "Arizona State Trust Land" I'm familiar with requires a permit unless you are hunting and fishing with a valid license.
-
You know the BLM only has two individuals to enforce that rule in the entire state, so unless your in a havely hit area I don't think you have to worrie about that.

No I realy couldn't get a great look at their heads but based on their size and all the youngsters that were with them I'm pretty sure they were does. I was looking as close as I could to there heads though. The buck I did see acted like he was in charge.

Man, I wish they would come out already so this thread can die. I'm acualy enjoying see everyone squirm over this. I say that becouse I know I don't have a tag this year, only got a bounus point. I knew my wife put in with her dad for antelope but what I didn't relize was that she has 12 bonus points so maybe she has a shot. It would be fun to go on that hunt with her. Good luck to you all.

What are the chances?
IHunt2live replied to SilentButDeadly's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
The problem I have is that my camera wont take good pictures out that far. By the time you get your camera out the deer are long gone. Its true though that when you forget your camera those are the times you realy wish you had one. Going out quail hunting I always think about bringing my bow just in case but when your tromping around the desert for quail and your dogs have beeper callers theres no way a deer will hang out long enough right?.?.? wrong. I've had whitetails look at my dog during the rut and you know their thinking "she looks pretty hot" and stand there long enough for an easy shot. Heck I had one stand there and look at me and he was so close I could have killed it with a shotgun if it was legal to take one with a shotgun. O'well, makes for good stories though. -

Sad thing about buffel grass is that its taken them to long to do something about it and I believe that its here to stay. The only thing we can hope for is to keep it from spreading. I hope I'm wrong though -
WOW!!! You evryone is looking for those 30+ width mule deer but I think I would take that deer over a 30 incher. I've never seen one quit that tall. Congrats to your bro.
-
Couldn't stress that enough. It sure will improve your shooting skills after you are humiliated a time or two. Those yotes aren't the easiest thing to hit but great practice.
-
I was just thinking about that today. It sure does suck for those who got screwed by cabelas and for me personaly I would not be upset if the GF gives them all a bounus point. Just my thought. Its not like the bounus point system realy works anyway.

Finally someone brought up the luck of the Orange I was waiting for that myself.

WOW!!!!! that buck is something! Congrats with such a great find.

Great thread going here. I'm also looking into drop aways. I'm looking at getting a new bow soon and am I'm thinking I might try one of the QAD's even their lower end model looks good. They seem a lot like the ripcords and the Lock-down technology look like a good idea. I also like the bar on top that keep the arrow from falling off. Mike

What are you guys talking about.?.?. I already know I got drawn for what I put in for..... A Bounus point. -
I hate to be negitive but I don't think thats going to happen with George Bush's budget cut recomendations for the Forest Service and other land agencies. It has to come down to the riders making good choices.

I forgot about this one. I took it right before my brother and I had the LONG 5 hour pack out of my deer from Nov. The neat thing was, was that I was facing NE when I took it. The whole sky was just full of color.
