That ignorance scares me. More so that more and more people have it now a days. Some of you may know that I'm going to school right now studing Wildlife Conservation and Management and I think most people would be suprized at the dynamics of the classes. My Mammal Management course this semester has about 30 people and I would say only about 4 of us hunt. The rest are clueless on a lot of topics. We just had a necropsy lab this past week and I felt like the TA because I had my Javi done in just a few minutes and everyone else was still standing around looking at their animal wonder what to do, so I had to help them all. I think it’s great that some people want to learn but when I look at some of those people in those courses I don't want them managing our natural resources. Sorry to vent on here or if what I’m saying seems irrational. I’ve been really frustrated with school. The wildlife program is falling apart with instructors leaving, budget cuts, and the director of the school taking it in the direction of a global climate change school.

Thanks! I know of a paper written on that topic but have never taken the time to read it.

I would agree with Casey. If there is a road nearby count on other people being in there.

Is that for real?????

I had a 20 yard (ranged) shot at one with my bow last January but decided not to take it. It was right in the entrence of his burrow and I thought he would run down into it after the shot. I still question myself whither I should have shot or not. I hope I get another chance. I might just have to go place a stand right over the hole and wait him out. They sure are unique animals and would love a rug someday.

So your the reason i can never find any sheds. You pick them all up before I can even trip over them.

IHunt2live replied to Snapshot's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
At the check station things looked better then they have in the past couple of years. Still a bit bellow average. There was a whole lot fewer hunters this year though. -
Right on! Here is a closeup that I took. Look at the canines of that cat! Only one was left

Anyone see any hard horn bucks yet???
IHunt2live replied to Webber's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I talked with some guys that saw some smaller mulies with velvet and one MONSTER that had already shed. -
Those bucks sure have stayed out of this area so I mostly get does and pigs. I've posted pics from this area before but if any of you remember that this water is no more then 30 yards from my father-in-laws cabin. These pics were intrusting to go through. Had a couple of baby pigs and some fawn for the first time. I could tell that there were two different does (based on bald spots on their coat) coming in OFTEN that had fawns but only brought their fawns in into the water a few times. Enjoy But this was the best pic, always fun to get.

Anyone going out this weekend? If anyone is free to help out at the quail check station off of willow springs and highway 77 drop me a line. It sounds like we mind be short maned this year. -
Tell you what, it was sure a tuff hunt for me. Stuck in classes the whole time in a concret and brick forest.

I sure woundn't pass up a buck like that

I like that one. My budy had another one I liked. kind of a spin off of PETA PEKA People for the Ethical Killing of Animals

Ya I took the bag off and the frame and straps are not in that back of shape. Not sure if I'll keep it though. I already have a millitary issue pack frame with a couple of good packs and its kindof a neat set up. Not the the best but I can't see myself spending $300+ for a pack.
-
Heres my pack I use. Top of the line, hand delivered from Mexico but they only made it half way so I had to go out and find it.

I do have to say that this area I was in is heavly managed for grazing. They rotate the cows often giving the plants a chance to grow back. I always know if the cows are in one pasture I can just move to the next. O' and I'm not getting payed to pick up the crap... I'm acualy paying to pick it up. Its for school.

Those are some cool photos deersandbeers. Did you all notice the lateral lines on its legs. some individuals in wild populations have gained that trait back after it was bread out of the domestic burros.
