What I can't get over is that the National Park Service.. that knows ZERO about wildlife management... is the one running this deal. I picture a bunch of park rangers with smokey the bear hats, shorts and knee high green socks running around telling a bunch of hunters which animals to shoot. I bet a bunch of them cry
-
Is it only 12 animals? I know it will only be 12 shooters but I didn't see that it would only be 12 animals. *edit* I went back and looked and it only says that shooters will be given up to one animal in exchange for volunteering. Unless I missed it, it doesn't say how many animals will be shot.

😂😂😂.. you just described my ex wife
-
Well... it all depends on what the local news tells them to think. You're probably right though
-
They didn't.. I was being sarcastic. The point I was trying to make is if people were gaga emotional about Bison like they are feral horses... they wouldn't be killing bison in the park
-
Lol... its the federal government. NOTHING they do makes sense. When people start riding bison in rodeos and little girls dream of getting a little bison for their birthday, they'll get rid of feral horses instead of Bison with a drop of cow blood in them.
-
They're hybrids. Technically they're beeffalo. They have domestic cattle blood in them. The National Park Service isn't going to EVER allow "Bison fences" to be built in the park. Not ever.

Yep!!! Between those and the Anthrax vaccine I got in the Marine Corps my headstone will be a biohazard sign.

Gotcha gotcha. I misunderstood.

Oh yeah, you can see where it was starting to eat into the bone on the forward and lower part of the pre-orbital pocket. And then the missing tooth of course. Bet you feel even better about taking him now!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Post some pics!!! I'm curious what that looks like

And I'm being Mr. Mom and the kids sleeping. I'm BORED

You just be quiet. There's nothing to hunt right now and it's a Monday.
-
I'm sorry, I just did a quick search and it's "nearly 3000".
-
I can promise you there are more than 2500 cameras out there. There are around 3000 game and fish water catchments in the state. I think it's like 3300, can't remember for sure. And thats just catchments. Now I'm sure there are many that don't have cameras but... there are many that have multiple cameras on them. So let's just say one per catchment to average it out. Now figure in dirt tanks, steel tanks, wallows, springs and random places guys have them like on salt and natural funnels. I have no idea and I wouldn't even want to guess but I'm betting at peak times it's FAR more than 2500
-
Seems reasonable. I imagine on the average, hunters use trailcams more during specific seasons for specific species. Lol... I doubt there are many guys hanging cameras for javelina. Early deer hunters would use them far more than January deer hunters. I would bet 75% to 80% of early archery elk hunters use them. Its hard to say what the actual total is but the 2000 comments game and fish received could never be relied on for even a rough estimate.
-
They do ok with the media announcements. The problem is hunters are and always have been apathetic. Most hunters only care about their tag. As for how many run trail cams.... one guess is as good as any. Who knows? Could be as high as 30%... or as low as 2%. I think the higher percentage is true of guys that actually have tags.

That is pretty funny actually...lol. The sad thing is, I don't even think Game and Fish has any idea how many cameras are actually out there. Could be 10,000... could be 50,000. Who the heck knows? I think that's probably why they came at this from the fair chase angle... and then the public safety angle. You don't have to have hard numbers when you come at it like that. Kinda like the way they stopped baiting. "Its to prevent the spread of disease." You can't even really argue with that.

Well it seems it was all BS. Sorry for stirring the pot when it was all just a prank!!! I like my crow with garlic... https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/04/shocking-video-security-brutally-drags-young-child-store-hoodie-mask-nose/?utm_campaign=later-linkinbio-gatewaypundit&utm_content=later-16585277&utm_medium=social&utm_source=instagram

Anyone know where I can get some fresh crow???
Desertguide replied to Desertguide's topic in The Campfire
Well I have found in my later years that crow goes down easier when you feed it to yourself. If someone else feeds you... its a very unpleasant experience... lol -
Yep... stilts will do it. My dad was a taper my whole life. Ended up with bad feet and a bad back. Hope you sort it out man!!!
-
THAT SUCKS!!! Man I'm sorry.

I have to wear one to go into one of the auto auctions in Phoenix. It hasn't killed me yet... 😂😂😂
-
At this point I won't wear one unless I'm required to when it's work related. If a business requires one and I'm on personal time. I won't go in. I only wore one before because of older folks. I never really felt like they did anything but if it makes old folks feel safer then it's worth it. On a selfish note... lol... I was exposed when my wife had it and I didn't show a single symptom so I know I carry the antibodies and I ain't giving anyone covid.
